Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the eldest justice on the high court, says she has "at least five more years" left on the bench, according to CNN. The network reports that Ginsburg discussed her tenure on the court following a New York production of "The Originalist." The play focuses on the life and career of Ginsburg's late colleague, Justice Antonin Scalia.

Looks like Trump won't get to fill that seat after all.

They’ll wheel her in a hospital bed and plug her into a into a wall outlet if necessary.

The Supreme Court is already lost for at least a generation. But, this is good news.

This is disgusting. You’re better than this, by light years.

That's a good point. Sometimes life has other plans.

Discussing Death in such a callous way is a disgrace to Debate Politics. We still have a long way to go before WE heal.

I’m the guy taking severe criticism from my ‘tribe’ for praying for Pence/Kasich.

How can any of you claiming to be Holy Christians possibly defend #45 with everything I know you’ve seen, especially when you actually have a Holy Man ready to be #46?

Liberals were throwing a party when Scalia died. I remeber the posts on this forum.

It's not a disgrace -- it's a reality. The woman is 85 years old and while she may still be in the seat at 90, it's a long shot. There's nothing wrong with pointing that out.

I'm not a "Holy Christian." I'm an atheist, and what I think is disgraceful is using a comment like mine to springboard into off-the-wall narratives.

Howard,

You had members on this forum celebrating when antonin died rejoicing and hoping that he rot in hell.

The hypocrisy from the left is just astonishing.

Then take it up with them.....individually

I hope she does, for one reason - Although I disagree with most of her political and judicial views and opinions, I think she is an iconic part of this country, a good person with a good heart, and I hope the best for her and that she lives for many, many more years. I wouldn't have a problem if she voluntarily retires, though.

What a nice thing to say

If she were actually, currently sick, Nim, I’d agree but as far as I know she’s fine.

I've heard a lot of truly hateful things come from the Left in the past decade or so. I think one of the biggest hypocritical things I've heard is that they claim to be in favor of Free Speech -- until that speech contains something they don't like. Then they're all for banning it and (sometimes) even punishing the speakers.

It is astonishing.

If Trump lives five more years with that fast-food diet I'll be astonished.

I wonder if she's going to push retirement further out if Trump wins in 2020. Cuz...that's 6 more years.

This shouldn't be shocking to anyone and I don't really even know why it had to be stated. No one that knows anything would've thought she's leave her position while Trump was President. The problem, as has been pointed out, is that she may not have a choice in what happens at her age.

I would guess she will serve until she dies. She had a perfect chance to retire during Obama's term.

Women tend to live longer than men so it wouldnt be suprising if she lives a very long time. Didnt Jfks mom live in her 100s? Barbara Bush was how old?

If I were a betting man I would say she has a fairly good chance of living past 90 years old. I think part being old is actually wanting to live. I would guess she is committed in her cause.

let's hope that we can send Trump and Pence packing in 2020.

i'd bet money Scalia figured he'd have five more years too

Scalia didn't make to 80, that RGB is 85 I think gives her more of a right to predict she will live five more years than Scalia might have predicted or hoped
