The Dream That's Destroying America

Looking for the cite

I don't know when that used to happen, but the earliest US corps were Philadelphia banks before there was a country.

My dad had a corporation in the '50's and it was a construction company, not a single purpose company, so I'm afraid I'm afraid I'm going to need a little more data on that claim.

Some corps are single purpose. A group gets together to develop a piece of land, build a project, etc. And they may die after the purpose is fulfilled, but I don't think that was ever the norm.

Up until the 1860s, is what I remember. Also see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_corporate_law

"At the Declaration of Independence, corporations had been unlawful without explicit authorization in a Royal Charter or an Act of Parliament of the United Kingdom. Since the world's first stock market crash (the South Sea Bubble of 1720) corporations were perceived as dangerous. This was because, as the economist Adam Smith wrote in The Wealth of Nations (1776), directors managed "other people's money" and this conflict of interest meant directors were prone to "negligence and profusion". Corporations were only thought to be legitimate in specific industries (such as insurance or banking) that could not be managed efficiently through partnerships.[2] After the US Constitution was ratified in 1788, corporations were still distrusted, and were tied into debate about interstate exercise of sovereign power. The First Bank of the United States was chartered in 1791 by the US Congress to raise money for the government and create a common currency (alongside a federal excise tax and the US Mint). It had private investors (not government owned), but faced opposition from southern politicians who feared federal power overtaking state power. So, the First Bank's charter was written to expire in 20 years."

I'll have to track down that history.

America is in good hands under President Trump. But your premise is correct.

We cannot even mention certain facts without being called a racist. It's because they cannot defend their positions. For instance, black neighborhoods are more violent than white neighborhoods all across America. That isn't saying that all black people are violent and whites aren't.

When candidate Trump said that "rapists and murderers are coming in from Mexico, they disingenuously spread word that he said that ALL Mexicans are rapists and murderers.

This hyperbole is what started the false narrative that Trump is a racist. This was followed up by his common sense, purely favorable to America policy of travel bans.

He NEVER said "all muslims are terrorists". Again, they ran with the false narrative.

They did it again when he referred to MS13 gang members as animals...this caused the media and many lefter politicians to side with gang members...even saying that they have a "spark of divinity", a term that they would never use to describe an aborted baby.

They are disgusting and dangerous and should be beaten back everywhere!

Now that was a post FILLED with important truth!

What's scary is that these are Nazi tactics. Pure Goebbells.
Hyperbole is truth.
And there is no reasoning with people who repeat the same lies which are spoon fed to them via the media and politicians. The level of intellectual dishonesty has reached a point where there simply is no more intellectual HONESTY.
So, what we're left with is a society where "the other" is marginalized and demonized and ironically, stripped of their "spark of divinity".

While many immigrants assimilate, some do not. It's simply reality.
There are immigrants who will never become Americanized, so to speak, and will continue their culture, their language and their customs here in America, perhaps for generations.
And that's fine. No harm no foul.
I enjoy going to Koreatown and Chinatown. Great food.
But when it involved dangerous ideology, when immigrants see the American way of life as evil, we simply can't tolerate that.
So, I don't care where you come from or what color your skin is. If you believe I'm evil, that America is evil, that we need to be irreversible and fundamentally changed, you shouldn't step foot on our soil, use our tax money to suck whatever benefits you can, and not give back because deep down, your ideology or religion teaches that you can use us, hurt us or even kill us and it's all good.

Another post filled with excellent truth!!

Exactly.

The LEFT has not just moved to the RIGHT.......they've moved to Nazi tactics and they don't seem to see it...........

Or......they just feel so righteous that they pretend the Nazi tactics are justified.

Dangerous times.

There is a large element of righteousness combine with this sense of purity and piety. It's like who can be the most worthy Stylite. Who can signal their virtue the most loudly. Who can be the tallest SJW.
We're ingraining this sense of hatred for self that I've never seen before.

The problem is that they have no respect for truth or facts. You cannot fight against people who run the media, yet President Trump is doing his best...

Against a Cat 5 headwind.

I tend to consider it hypocrisy. Nobody could really be this lacking in self-awareness and still socially functional.

You could consider not giving the word "snowflake" power.

The OP's ignorance is clearly displayed in his summary: "Liberals dream of an America that is the color of cinnamon where we all love each other. It's the dream that's destroying America."

Racial mixture is what racists like the OP fear, not what liberals dream. Liberals may dream of the culture mixture that happens when people from different cultures learn to live together, as people from different cultures often have learned to live together in the United States for example, leading to a blending of cultures and, as a byproduct, racial blending with it. A thousand years from now, if we don't exterminate ourselves, it may be that people are typically "the color of cinnamon", the OP's nightmare. Chances are, if that happens, we will have a civilized world.

What makes you think that if we as a country need 10,000 nuclear physicists that aren't available locally we would automatically reject certain races just because.

Immigration should be based on what we need rather than what someone else needs. It happens that decent and good are not an immediate need. And as regards our current system that does not seem to be a criteria.

Nothing you've posted here disagrees with my post in any way.

If it turns out to be racism to carefully choose immigrants and choose only a few of the best qualified.......then racism is good because it improves America.

Your entire premise is flawed. If you're choosing only a "few of the best qualified", and you're judging qualification on actual beneficial factors (education level, skills, economic standing, etc), it should have nothing to do with race. As such, it isn't "racism". If a hispanic person or a muslim person or so on had better education, better skills, or a better economic situation in your supposed system then they should get in.

It's only "racism" in terms of immigration if you're using the persons race or ethnicity to to determine if they are or are not eligible to immigrate.

Yes, letting "Letting unqualified (or even dangerous) black and brown people into America JUST BECAUSE they're black/brown and pathetic is a bad kind of racism" could be viewed as bad. Letting unqualified or even dangerous white people in would ALSO be bad. Similarly, disallowing qualified and not dangerous black and brown people in JUST because they're black/brown is ALSO bad.

Your whole premise is bonkers and off; a poor and pathetic attempt to just defend racism, nothing more.

Warning: Send the children and the Snowflakes from the room......I'm going to talk about racism.

It's a topic fraught with emotion--mostly gut level anger it seems.

I talk about racism realistically all the time......but Liberals don't like reality. Unable to refute--they call me a racist.

Immigration is a good example of the Liberal failure to see reality. They see Trump's immigration policy as racist.

Here's the reality:

If it turns out to be racism to carefully choose immigrants and choose only a few of the best qualified.......then racism is good because it improves America.

Letting unqualified (or even dangerous) black and brown people into America JUST BECAUSE they're black/brown and pathetic is a bad kind of racism......the worst kind.

There's nothing good about it because the dissonant and unAmerican aliens will never assimilate and never be happy in America......they'll just cause problems and raise children that will cause even more problems in the future.

A house divided against itself cannot stand.

A house full of dysfunctional family members who hate each other is doomed to fall into strife and eventually civil war.

Liberals dream of an America that is the color of cinnamon where we all love each other.

It's the dream that's destroying America.

You still have not come to terms anywhere in this thread with this the piece of the OP I have emboldened. While it is cute turn of phrase you are thinner than a human hair away from a practical elimination of immigration of all black and brown people just based on their color.

If you had written "letting in qualified immigrants of all ethnic and racial backgrounds would be optimal" at least you would have been able to make a case for an argument that is not race based. You made your own choice of words which result in what is actually a predicate for a strawman argument which is a left handed lie and a few posters have made an effort to let you off a hook that you should not be sprung from.

A cute but wholly obvious effort to box the discussion into a strawman argument in hopes of convincing the audience to adopt a wholly impractical result and one that would in execution end up being race based. NICE TRY! You absolutely deserve a position in my new marketing firm. But I think I will have to restrict your activities to marketing for cereal brands and the like.

So why were Melania's parents allowed into the country? I mean, what special talent do they have and while we are at it, why isn't Melania deported as she came into the country and violated the law by working on a visa that did not allow her to do so?

But conservatives are the xenophobes.

Dude, they make Melania Trumps. That's the kind of industry we need more of in this country.

You're confusing pointing out a hypocritical double standard with agreeing with it.

Nope. I disagree with the premise entirely.
See, it proves the OP's point.

The OP didn't phrase the post correctly in non-offending SJW terms, so...deplorable!
