Prepare for "everyone lies" and "...but Obama" and "...but Hillary"

I want to believe that even Trump supporters have to admit that lying about this meeting suggests guilt. If he lied about this meeting he should be impeached. Enough is enough.

Would you have believed him if he had said otherwise? No.

Was anything abour that knowledge illegal? No. Was anything about that meeting illegal? No. So, should anybody really care? No.

Michael Cohen, President Donald Trump's former personal attorney, claims that then-candidate Trump knew in advance about the June 2016 meeting in Trump Tower in which Russians were expected to offer his campaign dirt on Hillary Clinton, sources with knowledge tell CNN. Cohen is willing to make that assertion to special counsel Robert Mueller, the sources said.

Cohen's claim would contradict repeated denials by Trump, Donald Trump Jr., their lawyers and other administration officials who have said that the President knew nothing about the Trump Tower meeting until he was approached about it by The New York Times in July 2017.
Cohen alleges that he was present, along with several others, when Trump was informed of the Russians' offer by Trump Jr. By Cohen's account, Trump approved going ahead with the meeting with the Russians, according to sources.

Two problems:

1) Cohen is desperate

2) Source claiming to be near Cohen re this issue simultaneously claims that there are no material documents (recordings, memos, whatever) to prove said allegation(s)

Related qualifier:

Mueller may already know about the likelihood (high probability or low probability) of any such claim anyway.

This is getting pretty suspicious here. There is little to no chance that Cohen or his legal team would leak this. There is no advantage to them in doing so. Trump has depended on his base staying with him no matter what comes out about anything. This one might be a bridge too far though.

If this is true, the only one that benefits from this coming out this way is Trump....it is truly strange that they would leak this if they did. But Cohen leaking it would be stranger still.

There is no question that leaking this is a desperate strategy. The problem for the argument that Cohen leaked it is that it hurts him more than it hurts Trump if its true in the sense that he needs to run not walk now to cut a plea deal because he has to think that the Trump team is going to keep doing this to him.

Trump has been acting desperate for months. So an argument that Trump is not desperate would not be believable.

CT Time. For the past few days, ever since I saw the press release that Rosanne would be on Hannity. I thought the timing was odd. Hannity is best friends w/ Mr. Swampy. What if he is using her for a distraction? That he knew this was going to come out today.
