lol...tax cuts for the rich--no problem

Health care for Vets--we can't afford that.

Trump: U.S. Can?t Afford Veterans? Health Care Without Cuts

Last year, the Trump administration insisted that its regressive tax cuts were so important, it was worth adding $1.5 trillion to the national debt to ensure their passage. Now, the White House is warning Congress that the United States cannot afford to add $1.6 billion to the deficit to expand health-care options for veterans.

Ouch.

In a letter Monday, the Trump administration demanded that lawmakers fund a popular veterans’ health-care program — which allows former troops to spend public funds on private doctors and hospitals — with cuts to other parts of the budget.

...last month, president Trump signed a law that reorganized veterans’ health care, and shifted funding for the private program into the discretionary column. This did not significantly increase the overall cost of domestic spending — but it did lift the price tag on the discretionary budget above previously set caps. Which is to say: It produced a budget shortfall that wasn’t a product of changes in fiscal reality, so much as in accounting practices.

US Military veterans are not the upper 0.001% that get the largest tax cuts under TrumPutinMcConnellismVille but you will get the biggest ****ing up your ass so, if you are a vet then **** you.

Happy America vets.

Sincerely,

Donald TrumPutin

PS Me & Mike Pence will build that ****ing wall, with your health care benefits. Thank you for your service ...........

health care for veterans should be flat out free, and there should be no obstacles.

I can get behind this idea sorta. I think it should be tiered. I'm not willing to give a 3 year jack like myself the same benefits that a 20 year vet gets.

Eventually you run out of other people's money. I agree that vet health care should be "free" - but entitlements need to be cut. They aren't sustainable.

a nation that ****s it's vets up the ass like America does deserves to get ****ed up it's ass too .............
EVERYONE that is considering enlisting should STOP & tell Uncle Sam to go **** himself ............
If YOU enlist & then get screwed on medical bennies, then it's your own fault ..........
DON'T enlist; go fight for another nation ...............

Absolutely.

I cannot believe we even have to discuss this.:(

Weren't VA cut backs one of Trumps campaign promises?

Pretty much agree, it isn't the benefits that Vets recieve that need to be cut as they have earned it, it is those that did nothing to earn their government check that needs to be cut.

I'm absolutely okay with that. If you offer up your freedom, your safety, and perhaps your life, the least that Uncle Sam can do in return is give you health care on his dime.

Not and allow the ownership class to have whatever it wants, no.

Funny how the Liberal care about our veterans, now.

A few years ago, when it was discovered just what a cluster**** the VA is, they acted like everything was just fine.

We oughta be spending less on refugees and illegals and more on our veterans.

considering that i support health care for everyone paid for by taxes from everyone, i consider free health care for all veterans a fair compromise. i should have put "free" in quotes the first time, though.

I was thinking in the context of today's system, but yeah, I'm with you.

Unfortunately the intelligent ones are too smart to run for office.

perhaps. also, running for office takes a lot of money and "who you know." that excludes a lot of people who might be decent representatives.

Well, we were all supposed to get health care cheaper and better...not just the Veterans. None of the suggestions from the right was promising. He told us he would let us know the fabulous plan once he got elected.

Ouch.

The Veterans lobbiest will fight this in DC. So we can afford a new paint job on AF One, but we are so strapped for cash we must contract out Vets care ?

For reality TV star, Trump is terrible at optics.

Vets vote, and they appreciate and value integrity in a leader no matter which branch you served. Many I talk too, would not piss on Trump if he was on fire.

The VA deals with many issues civilian hospitals just do not have the experience. The VA is at the forefront on researching and treating PTSD.

Lincolns promise at the conclusion of the Civil War:

To care for him who shall have borne the battle and for his widow, and his orphan.”

That's what I thought, too. I suspect a lot of VA doctors are specialists in their field and work pro bono for the VA while also working in a private practice as well.

The people who are going to be most affected are DISABLED vets, and it doesn't matter if they served three years or twenty.
