Sen. Rand Paul said on Monday that the conversation around Russian interference in the 2016 US election and President Donald Trump's break with the intelligence community on the issue was misdirected and animated by anti-Trump animus.

"Any country that can spy does, and any country that can meddle in foreign elections does," the Kentucky Republican said on CNN's "The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer."

He continued, "All countries are doing this, but we've elevated this to a higher degree, and we've made this all about the sour grapes of Hillary Clinton losing the election, and it's all about partisan politics now. This is truly the Trump derangement syndrome that motivates all of this."

Rand Paul is 100% right. Wolf Blitzer peppered him with questions and refused to let him answer.

Trump derangement syndrome is in full display. It refuses people to rationally discuss these issues and only attack Trump.

Paul makes a good point re: Hillary. How much of this is about avenging her?

Rand Paul speaks the truth.

Nothing says you are a legit president like siding with a foreign dictator over your own branch of government because of an ongoing investigation into that foriegn dictator's meddling in your election.

We are in the Twilight Zone.

Rand Paul 100% right? When has Rand Paul EVER been 100% right?

Tell us a story about being "rational."

The last people we look to for logic, reason or rationality are the Trumpkins.

They just don't get it.

Oh well. Good thing there aren't enough of them around anymore to matter.

Better days are ahead America. Be patient and stay the course. This too, shall pass.

the next time Dr. Boucher attacks Mr. Paul maybe his head will come off ..........

None of it!

Donald Trump didn't throw the U.S. and the USIC under the bus to avenge Hillary Clinton.

Rand Paul speaks the truth.

Truth? All he did was inject Hillary Clinton into an issue that has nothing to do with Hillary Clinton. This is classic whataboutism. Anytime Trump is on the ropes it is...3,2,1, well Hillary Clinton would have been worse! Only problem is NOBODY believes it this time.

Yeah, Trump is deranging people ... on the right.

Trump was a miserable failure today, everyone saw it, even you guys. You're simply too prideful and fanatical about your politics to admit it.

Trump Derangement Syndrome is the malady that makes people think Donald Trump is a viable President of the United States. Trump Derangement Syndrome makes people twist themselves into knots trying to justify the stupid things Trump does and trying to explain that what he said wasn't really what he meant. TDS, unfortunately, might be strong enough to keep thousands of idiots from falling back into their nice, comfortable comas and make them participate in the political process.

Aren't they so predictable?

Back them in to the proverbial corner of defending the indefensible and the "Benghazi" just come's right out of 'em. That is so stale. I do wish they could come up with something original.

What Rand Paul said was 100% logical and needed.

No evidence exist that Trump colluded with Russia.

The intelligence community in the United states has a deep bias.

Can you tell me how many votes were switched because of the Russians?

He wanted to press the reset button and start from scratch with Russia. That's an entirely rational and intelligent strategy.

Trump is on the ropes now? Lol. He’ll be YOUR president until 2025. Lol

Its so funny to listen to them talk about "derangement" when they are psychologically obsessed with the Clinton;s and Obama, despite both no longer holding the any form of office.

They can't let go - its all they have. If they can't blame Clinton and Obama, they'll have to start taking responsibility for their own failures in government, so they'll never stop doing it.

Why? Russia has NOTHING to offer our country and gave us a dozen reasons to not to talk to them. The Russians are actually a weak nation, but Trump treated them equals on the world stage.

Seriously, if this was Obama you'd have a cross ready for him.

Honestly I doubt Trump colluded with Russia. I do think he capitalized on it. Russia did hack into the DNC and Podesta. Russia did provide the archives to WikiLeaks to release. The leaks along with Comey's actions had a measurable affect on Democrat's enthusiasm and turn out. That doesn't mean that Trump did not win the election and that he is not the legit president or if the tables had been turned that Clinton would not have done the same. The problem is you guys and Trump are bat**** insane and would rather deny that a foriegn government interfered in our election out of FEAR that it makes your guy look less than legit rather than practice an ounce of dignity and admit **** went down and Trump was smart enough to take advantage of it. This is the biggest practice in stupidity I have ever seen. The only way this makes sense is if Trump is somehow compromised with Russia. Not that he colluded, but they have something he wants.

He violates the Constitution on term limits, you WILL have a Civil War.

Uh... you do know that the inauguration happens after the new year, right? Ergo, the president elected in 2024 will not take office until January 2025. Lol

Clinton pushed Russia into the extreme when he supported putting Ukraine and Georgia into Nato.

You cannot provoke a nation like that and expect no response.

Oh, I misread your post. That is a relief. If Trump wins the next election, then it is because Democrats screwed up. Anyone outside his base hates him with a passion.

Everyone hacks into computers and spreads the illegally gotten data on the Internet? Everyone creates thousands of fake bot accounts to spread racial turmoil? I'm sorry, but that's not true.

You're just trying to equivocate.

Moreover, you're acknowledging that Russia meddled in our election. Trump is denying this and denying the findings of our own intelligence services right in front of the Russian president. If Trump wanted to remain diplomatic with Russia there are a million ways to do this without looking like an emasculated Putin puppet.

And appeasing Putin's unlawful annexation of Crimea is no different from appeasing Hitler's annexation of the Sudetenland.

Given the speculation about collusion, why would Trump do so much to make these speculations seem so much more credible?

The united states invaded another country in iraq under false pretenses!

Thanks to neocan republicans and democrats, we have no credibility.

We all watched Trump collude with Russia today.

We all watched Trump encourage Russia to hack Hillary's emails.

We all watched him use information that Russia hacked.

We watched him deny that anyone from his campaign had anything to do with Russia.

We watched how about dozen people from his campaign have something to do with Russia.

we watched how members of his campaign met with Russia.

We watched how a British spy, an Australian diplomat and Americans campaigning for Trump knew that Trump people had met with Russians, and only the Americans didn't tell the FBI.

We watched Trump lie about why his campaign met with Russia.

We watched Trump fire the head of the investigation into the "Russian thing".

we watched Trump and his party undermine the investigation.

The collusion has been in front of our faces all along.
