Natural charisma.
Full stop.
Trump has two things, cunning and charisma.
Combine that with an obvious lack of morals and you will succeed in America.
That's how the system is set up.
Further, he's a consumer of conservative media, a birther himself.
So he is just repeating what he heard there.
You're using the word morals as if it means something, but it's not indicative of the facts, which are the following:
1) People who are less agreeable will make more on average than people who are more agreeable.
2) People who are more charisma tend to professionally outperform those who with less charisma, as charisma is generally associated with high emotional intelligence.
Knowing that will help you succeed in America.
A polite way of saying that assholes set the tone.
This applies to ALL of our society.
All else being equal, the one prepared to frame his rival for child molestation wins.
The first person to send his workers jobs overseas was an asshole. The ones who jumped in were too.
Everybody else just did it so the assholes wouldn't take THEIR market share.
And you'll need a cite for charismatic = high emotional intelligence, because that hasn't been my experience.
But he assured us he has the best words!
Yes. This is because agreeableness is not a predictor of success.
I'm not sure what you think "on average" but it generally means "more likely than not" you will find that charismatic behavior is associated with high emotional intelligence (as I understand it, I'm not sure what you think emotional intelligence means).

Does this relate to Trump? Sometimes, yes. Sometimes, no. People with high emotional intelligence has the benefit of being able to take any form of criticism and make it constructive. Trump does this in a special way where he doesn't waste time apologizing, which is a very effective tool.
This is twice now you have posted citations that either don't have anything to do with my point or actually support it.
Maybe don't just post the first thing you find on Google.
The abstract lists several traits associated with EI that trump clearly doesn't possess. Only a couple does he "hit".
He totally lacks empathy, self control, etc. Priamr9 attributes of the emotionally intelligent.
Your cite is talking a bout "charismatic leadership". Not charisma itself as a personality trait.
Investigating emotional intelligence and the effective leadership of 43 participants employed in management roles, Palmer et al. (Palmer et al., 2001) found that emotional intelligence has been associated with several components of transformational leadership. The ability to monitor emotions within oneself and others was associated significantly with the transformational leadership components of idealized attributes and idealized behavior. The components (idealized attributes and idealized behaviors) combined reflect ―charisma‖. The Trait Meta Mood Scale was used to measure the attention, clarity and mood repair dimensions. They have suggested that the ability to monitor emotions in oneself and others and the ability to manage emotions are the two main components associated with competences of effective leadership. Empirical studies also showed that, when leaders experience come with positive emotions at work, this can contribute to several potential beneficial impacts, which in turn contribute towards the effectiveness of leadership (George, 2000). Cherulnik et al. (Cherulnik et al.,2001) pointed out that a leader‘s behavior has an impact on the subordinatesaffective state. They found that, when the leader exhibited truly charismatic behavior, this behavior had an effect of emotional contagion, inspiring similar emotional responses in the subordinates who were exposed to the behavior. Thus, emotion is a precursor of action, providing the schema on how individuals interact with their environment.
You are interesting.
Do you mind if I ask what your education/profession is?
You're confused, I never said that Trump exhibited the traits in the study I referenced. I said that Charisma is generally associated with emotional intelligence. This is a fact.
You never read anything that I said. I said, "sometimes" Trump exhibits these traits and "sometimes" he does not.
You also didn't get past the abstract of the study, I presume. If you did you would know that charisma (as a personality) is used as a dependent variable, which is used as a coefficient for the model which associates itself with EQ. This is an attempt to determine whether people with high EQ make more charismatic leaders, or the other way around.
It helps if you read further than the title.
My Post-Grad is in Financial Economics; Undergrad in Finance in Data Science. I'm an investment banker.
This cite says the exact opposite:

Well, I don't know anything about those studies. I'd be happy to read about it.,
