Just watch this video and see if it makes you cringe as much as it did me.

That video was difficult for me to watch.

I used to want Pelosi to step down because I just didn't like the woman and her politics, but now it's different. I actually feel bad for her because there's obviously something medically wrong with her. What I can't understand is how she doesn't see it herself.

.

Yeah... if Trump did stutters and rambling THAT badly... people may have a point that he needs some medical evaluation...

She sounds like a rambling grandma you just tune out because nothing she says makes sense and shes talking to herself 75% of the time.

She is not budging....She is prob as bad as John McCain is in putting her desires before the best interests of the nation.

I don't think it's any secret she's long past her best before date; the woman is despised nationally by the preponderance of Americans, including many Democrats and progressives of all stripes.

Pretty much the only reason she gets to stay on is well-placed friends in Dem party leadership, a bottomless war chest and name recognition/hard core partisan loyalty in her riding, and her ability to raise cash from wealthy donors (of course!).

Unless your from Pelosi's district, you dont get to make that call at the ballot box. Odd how the OP has no concerns about Trumps ramblings and NP disorder. So contrary to the original post, its partisan snipping as usual.

It almost looks as if she might have had a mini-stroke. Notice the slight difference in mouth movement from one side to the other when she talks. Almost imperceptible -- but there.

Of course, I don't watch her talk so maybe that's just her nature. She seems to be having a bit of mental disconnect as well.

Not a fan of Pelosi in the slightest; however, there are MANY in the DC circus that should have retired decades ago, from both sides of the aisle.

Its a sad part of human nature that some folks simply stay on too long when they should go quietly into the good night. This is true in many professions including public service, athletics, show business and lots of other human endeavors.

As a Democrat, I would encourage the Dems to develop new and younger leadership able rise to the challenge of Trump and the new Retrumplican party. .

I consider myself pretty observant. It's not obvious that there is something medically wrong with her. Now can you direct me to your thread where you point out of really ****ed up Trump is or is this a witch hunt on your part?

I might be able to remark upon the woman's statements were they presented in a continuous way. The repeated edits/jumps make it impossible for me to know what be the context and themes she was addressing with any given remark; consequently, I really don't have something to say about what she said, as presented in that video. Is there a complete transcript of her speech?

Good point. There are lots of people making speeches that you can make look bad through highly selective editing.

Well, from what I've gathered, she was going to face a challenge for Democrat house leadership from the guy in NY who lost his primary to the young woman socialist loon. So maybe the Democrats in the House are going to have to do it differently now.

I guess we'll see, but, yes, she'll well past her effectiveness date.

Well, Nancy has stuttered for a long time. If it's a matter of her being a stutterer, she is and has been for as long as I can recall. That said, she tends to speak in complete sentences, which at least, makes it possible to follow her thoughts when she's talking.

That's so true. I don't care for Nancy much, but it is up to her district to decide. As such, she strikes me as a person who does the bidding for some well to do constituents without much input of her own.
As for house leadership...they tried to set her aside and didn't, for whatever reason.

Probably true, but it is up to her and the voters in her district to make that decision, no one else.

He "dry mouth" could be due to several meds, from anti depressants to allergy meds. She isn't the only one with symptoms like that. I am also guessing that her facial expressions are due to a good dose of botox, although Parkinson patients present with mask like facial expressions as well.
I could also be peeing against the wind and be completely off.

All partisanship aside... It's time for Pelosi to retire.

the Democrats are the only way that we can fight back against the Trumpist party, so new and exciting leadership is utterly essential. she doesn't need to retire, but it's time for someone else to lead, IMO.

I don't think she should retire, if she doesn't want to and her constituency feels well represented.

I absolutely think she should withdraw from her party's leadership in the house. She's so reviled by the right that holding her a leadership position is motivational lighting rod for them.

(your edited video is disingenuous, still the same)

Nancy AND Chuck should step aside on the condition YOUNGER legislators would get a chance at leadership. They are both very adroit legislators and, imho should keep their seats … literally and figuratively.

This just doesn't show the entire case. Not only is she the representative for her progressive northern Cali. district (which she will be until she decides to retire, IMO) but she is the minority leader of the dems in the house and could be the majority leader in the house if dems ever regain the majority.

Seems the jobs of majority and/or minority leaders of either party in the house or Senate is to create a unified block of vote on issues from congresspersons. To create massive gridlock in Washington.

EDIT: it's time to show politicians were don't want gridlock in Washington by voting against these 'block voting' tactics by either party.

Independents are hoping, but unless something changes, votes will be cast for 3rd party candidates?
