Conservative lawmakers in the House are preparing to impeach Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, Politico reported Friday.

Sources told the publication that conservatives have been preparing to have Rosenstein impeached for weeks over allegations that he’s held up their investigation into FBI agents who some lawmakers say are biased against President Trump.

This move seems really stupid on the part of these Republicans. First of all, even if the House does vote to impeach, Senate would never convict. Second of all, all they are only inviting more and more suspicion upon themselves, especially now that we know a candidate running for Congress in 2016 requested and received hacked materials from the Russians.

I'm sure this is just red meat for the base, but it seems pretty reckless.

They certainly have a lot of evidence against Rosenstein, not least of which is what they found out from Page's testimony today...he outright lied to Nunes.

On the other hand it would guarantee a blue Wave so you may even see Dems vote for it...

Nah, people would see it for the political stunt it is and know the Senate would never convict. Hell, they probably couldn't even get 50 votes in the Senate, much less 67.

If you're talking to me, no way all Republicans and 16 Democrats vote to convict. Again, I seriously doubt they could get 50 Republicans.

Trump can remove Rosenstein under the guise of misconduct. He doesn't need the Senate.

They love to put on smoke and mirror shows for the "I hate da gubmint but keep sending my knocked up daughter her welfare check" crowd in flyover America... :peace
