If the FBI gave the House GOP the info they wanted, would they leak it to Trump?

The House GOP want everything they can get about the Russian investigation. My first question is if the FBI gave it to them would they leak it to Trump and his lawyers? My second question is would they leak that which they felt would help undermine the investigation to the public? What do you think?

1st question = yes, they most certainly would ............

It would be in Trump's hands before they had a chance to finish reading it for themselves.

Do you really have to ask?

They've already done both, the last time they got the chance. Although it did backfire on them..

Of COURSE they would.

I don't see why they would...at least, not before they complete their task and issue their report to the public and, if necessary, their recommendations for criminal prosecution to the DOJ.

What investigation are you referring to? Mueller's? If so, I've seen no indication anyone in the House is trying to undermine his investigation. In fact, I've seen no indication of the House trying to undermine any investigation. They've simply been trying to run down the facts.

In any case, the House certainly wants to give as much information as possible to the public...and it wouldn't be a "leak". It is within their power and it is their duty to make available to the public any non-classified information they find.

The FBI has a hard rule about not releasing anything to do with ongoing investigations. Period. Full stop. The Republicans know this but they insist on making a circus out of this to make it look like Strzok is trying to hide something that they would of course leak to Trump's lawyers.

Of course not. If they're GOPers, they are clearly fine upstanding citizens who would never ever do anything for political gain. For example, they would never pretend they needed seven investigations into how the attack on Benghazi's consulate happened as pretext for trying to tarnish Hillary.

You do know that eventually Trump and his lawyers will get such documents that the GOP is asking for right? Won't matter who it comes from. It's called the Discovery Process. The only thing that Trump and his lawyers won't get is the prosecutors strategy for using evidence.

shrug...

Seven investigations and they are STILL waiting for information they requested from the Obama administration. Heck, same thing with Fast and Furious. Same thing with every other investigation.

Maybe one day they'll finally get it all, eh?

Does a bear s—t in the woods?

Republicans have pretty much gone all in on protecting Trump at this point. I have no doubt that they would leak information.

Oh please....they would be running down to the WH with the thing clenched between their teeth. Its not even a question.

I will say this, having watched Comey who has much to answer for, Rosenstein who is smart as a whip and Strzok testify, the GOP has got to stop thinking it can win these battles via Congressional Hearing. Even Comey who has much to answer for made fools of them. Rosenstein was almost circumspect and thus managed to make them look like idiots without appearing to even be trying. Strzok for all the ridiculousness of sharing nonsense with his girlfriend using government smartphones for God sake is just killing them...has been knocking them from pillar to post all day long. Its not so much that Strzok has had slam dunk moments. Its that the House Committee Republicans have had none. They have had at him all day. The best inquisitors have had time passed to them from other members and NOTHING. Its iike waves crashing against a breakwater.... NOTHING.

In fact, they stepped in it because the dems are going to release the transcript of his first hearing and the GOP clearly is not happy about that.

LOL! Comedy gold!

One wonders if they would even bother reading it themselves first.

The FBI just kicked the GOP's ass. And, it was great.

It is impossible to leak government information to the President, as he always had the right to know what our government is doing, he needs to know what our government is doing.

Yeah, imagine if Trump was actually given any information of who his accusers are as well as the allegations against him. That would be so wrong.

If trump wanted the information he could have it. He does not need it to be leaked to him.

Yea he does because it is not an issue of his Executive office, its the issue of the optics of his gaining access to information on an investigation for which he is a subject. He rightfully fears that. If he didn't he would have just gotten information handed to him long ago.

The Strozk hearing has gone so badly for the House Republicans even with the Majority that Chairman Goodlatte has had to break rules at the end that he was making up on the fly at the beginning just to at least give his boys a chance to have the last word. But the entirety of the Hearing today was a disgrace.

Its so bad, the GOP is down to attacking his "body language" as a witness.

Their problem is like most Americans they no longer use or understand their own native tongue. They keep accusing Strozk of "bias" that effected his investigations and Strozk keeps referring to them as political views that did not effect his investigations. Look up the dictionary definition of bias and you if you watched the entirety of the hearing today, not what the 24/7's will pick and choose whether Fox or CNN or anybody else and you can see why the GOP has failed. The only and I do mean ONLY headway they made all day was when at the end Goodlatte changed his own rules made up earlier in the day now that he himself is breaking late in the day.

They are all making speeches at the end. Hardly any questions being asked.
