Trump Rally: 75% False Statements

So you're saying we shouldn't take the word of the President of the United States seriously? That we shouldn't trust he means what he says? That he has no interest in telling the truth? That it is okay if he says things which are not true, so long as he has power? Does your willingness to allow your political leaders lie to you extend to ALL politicians? For example, if President Clinton in 2021 (and no, I don't think we'll have a President Clinton) says she's going to cut your taxes to 0, but instead raises them 50%, will you be good with that? If President Clinton jokes that she'll imprison everyone who doesn't vote for her, is that cool with you?

I'm just curious how you feel about this and how far you're willing to go.

I generally don't care much for your posts, but this one made me chuckle. Well done!

I'm willing to go only as far as I can. If the president makes a joke, some people laugh and we move on.

Outlets like CNN and MSNBC have literally wasted days on talking about one thing they either took way out of context, or took way too seriously. I am in no way advocating for someone to take Trump at his word 100%.
But these people go out into this speech with the very mission of correcting everything that Trump says and ****ing with him as much as they can. Which only makes them seem even more petty by the day and shows many of us why we stopped looking to them for actual news in the first place.

They wasted over two days talking about him drinking water at a speech. All because he gave someone else crap about requiring water at their speech. They wasted what seemed like weeks with talking about how much McDonalds Trump eats.

Do you not see the source of my issue here?
This is the reason I look online for my news sources and I only watch Fox now and again, because they can still be critical of him. If at least a bit too zealous, but at least I don't have them lying to my face on nearly a daily basis. Whining that Trump has two scoops of ice-cream for his snack, or crying crocodile tears over something that they just now seem notice happening at the boarder.

So if President Clinton threatens to jokes about imprisoning you for not voting for her, you're cool with that?

Interesting...

He is the President of the United States, arguably the most powerful position in the world. It's not a stretch to ask him to TRY and tell the truth.

These are not missatements. They are not spin. They are repeated and blatant lies. From the President. That's not okay.

Also, I take it you don't watch Fox News either, for reasons you listed here?

They wasted over two days talking about him drinking water at a speech. All because he gave someone else crap about requiring water at their speech.
Yeah and that was dumb. But all news stations do dumb things like that. But we're not talking about that, we're talking about the deliberate falsehoods.

They wasted what seemed like weeks with talking about how much McDonalds Trump eats.
I think the conservative reaction to that lasted way longer than anyone else's. But, agreed, him eating McDonalds is not a big deal, nor is the number of scoops of ice cream.

But that's not what we're talking about here. We're talking about the lies. Quit with the red herrings and just discuss the lies. Are you okay with the President of the United States deliberately lying to the people of the United States?

Do you not see the source of my issue here?
Yes. Do you see the source of mine?

This is the reason I look online for my news sources and I only watch Fox now and again
Wait...why do you watch Fox at all? I thought things like flag lapels and tan suits "shows many of us why we stopped looking to them for actual news in the first place"?

So why would you watch Fox at all?
If at least a bit too zealous, but at least I don't have them lying to my face on nearly a daily basis.

Okay.

Okay.

Yes, if it was obviously a joke. Though Clinton was never really good at jokes, unless she was reading off quotes.

All they are doing, is going out with a chip on their shoulder and have shown themselves to even invent issues, turning those statements into lies.

I don't recall these same people going out to proof read and fact check everything said by Obama on a weekly basis. So at the very least, it exposes a fine line of bias that they are willing to skirt so long as it suits them.

So emojis... that's it?

Well in place of proving my statement incorrect, I can see why that is all you could put down.

Everything I've mentioned isn't a red herring.
It's just more of the same reasons why more and more people decide to stop trusting these jackasses in nearly everything they do.

They come out of the gate with a chip on their shoulder for Trump and I'll be damned if you could honestly say they would give Hillary the same treatment. I've seen Trump lie and I've seen him just overpitch things like a politician always does, but without any trust. There is no way that I am going to take them at their word over his, right off the bat.

Not with the way they've been going about these last three years.

Yes, if it was obviously a joke.
Yeah, but what if it wasn't? Like Trump has tried to claim repeatedly when his lies have been called out? Would you be okay with that? Are you okay with it now?

All they are doing, is going out with a chip on their shoulder and have shown themselves to even invent issues, turning those statements into lies.
No...facts are what proves his statements lies, not the media.

I don't recall these same people going out to proof read and fact check everything said by Obama on a weekly basis.
A) Obama didn't blatantly and obviously lie all the time
B) Barack Obama's file | PolitiFact

So at the very least, it exposes a fine line of bias that they are willing to skirt so long as it suits them.
Or maybe our President is a serial liar?

So emojis... that's it?
If you're going to say something so blatantly ridiculous, I'm not going to waste any more time on it than that.

You won't watch CNN or MSNBC because of their bias, but you'll sometimes watch Fox because they don't lie to your face all the time? That's absurd.

Everything I've mentioned isn't a red herring.
We're talking about honesty from the President and you're talking about ice cream and tan suits (essentially). It is a red herring. You're trying to claim the problem isn't with the President's lies, but rather the media for reporting accurately what he is saying. That's nonsense.

It's just more of the same reasons why more and more people decide to stop trusting these jackasses in nearly everything they do.
BS. You didn't "stop trusting" anything. They just didn't tell you what you wanted to hear, so you choose not to listen. Big difference.

They come out of the gate with a chip on their shoulder for Trump
It's amazing...you're a serial liar who advocates for racist policies, while undermining our allies and defending a hostile government who undermined our election and suddenly people don't think you're trustworthy. Who knew?

and I'll be damned if you could honestly say they would give Hillary the same treatment.

Are you kidding? They reported on Benghazi and Clinton e-mails and the FBI investigation for HOURS every single day. They played her quote about putting coal miners out of work repeatedly for weeks.

I've seen Trump lie and I've seen him just overpitch things like a politician always does, but without any trust. There is no way that I am going to take them at their word over his, right off the bat.
Then you're choosing the wrong side because there are lists of THOUSANDS of verifiable lies Trump has told and told repeatedly. Choosing to believe the serial liar over those who report those lies is partisan hackery.

I never said there wasn't an issue with Trump being Trump, nor did I say that I completely stopped watching CNN or any of the other media sources. Just that Fox has shown themselves to be more trustworthy with what they are reporting.

My issues is that everything they have done, has put everything that they do in the light of being "extremely suspect" and highly questionable.

It's amazing...you're a serial liar who advocates for racist policies, while undermining our allies and defending a hostile government who undermined our election and suddenly people don't think you're trustworthy. Who knew?

Great, lacking evidence for outrageous claims and personal attacks in what was supposed to be a simple debate. So its interesting to see that your lean isn't entirely moderate.

So why throw the debate away for something that you can't prove?
