Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation to the Supreme Court would present an immediate threat to Roe v. Wade.

Within a few years, five men could revoke a woman’s right to have an abortion in the United States.

President Donald Trump’s nomination of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court is a clear threat to Roe v. Wade, the court’s landmark 1973 decision that essentially legalized abortion throughout the country. If confirmed, Kavanaugh would likely provide the fifth vote to overturn Roe ― a ruling that his predecessor Justice Anthony Kennedy protected as the court’s swing vote on abortion.

Yup. A for-real 5 man death panel, Republican style.

I doubt Kava would rule against Roe, would it have made you feel any better if Trump had nominated a woman that would definitely had voted in favor of overturning Roe?

You now understand why having a quality SCOTUS is important.

Too many Americans are just now figuring this out.

WE USED TO BE BETTER

I hear a lot of people making the claim that Mr. Kavanaugh is going to make it to where Roe v Wade will be overturned. But I have yet to see anyone back up their statements. As such anyone saying that is doing nothing but fear mongering.

And seriously JacksinPA? 5 man Death panel? Talking about foolish hyperbole and fear mongering. Your statement just made it to the Top 10.

Ain’t gonna happen. The greatest danger is not to Roe, but to workers rights, the environment, refugees on the border, etc.

Corrupt Kav will not explicitly overturn Roe v. Wade. Instead, we’ll see a Rehnquist maneuver with Kennedy in 1992, adding more restrictions. This keeps it alive for the gop base and further challenges a Woman’s choice.

A Woman’s choice is something some conservative independents, also so-called right libertarians, say they support. This is similar to the Roberts gambit with ACA.

Now you show your proof of your assertions. Show Kavanaugh's quotes where he has confirmed that he, indeed, wants to overturn Roe v. Wade.

7 men instituted it, dude.

Five men overturning women's rights. That's not going to go over well in this #MeToo environment.

Who was that?

I'm tired of men who believe that life begins at erection. That women will be used as "handmaids" to produce white babies to prevent brown and black people from outnumbering whites is obvious.

They have have a case presented to be them, that is how the SC operates.

Based on what?

She clerked under Scalia and was largely influenced by him. I believe it is likely she was in agreement with him on the matter. Just as Kava was a clerk under Kennedy who was a supporter of Roe vs Wade, would lead me to believe he would be less likely to overturn. Until we get a clear answer regarding how they feel about that judgement looking at their past judgements and influences are about the only way to draw an idea of how they would handle such a case.

So . . . based on your suppositions and assumptions by association, and not by anything in her actual record or work product

Me too.

Lol, where do you come up with such garbage? If people were using racist beliefs to decide on whether or not to be for or against abortion then shouldn't they be pro abortion as black people abort at a disproportionate rate? Being against abortion literally means you are for saving black lives.

Also, if the obvious conclusion is that the only people who are against abortion are racist and misogynistic, to what motive do you attribute to black women that are prolife?

Reality isn't a Netflix movie, ladies. This is delusional.

Elections have consequences and we won. Ask slenderman...that statement was his only (conscious) legacy.

I don't think he will. He stated is affirmation of tradition and long settled law, of which R v W most certainly is.

We shall see.

Newsflash: Black women fought for the right to choose, too.
