Since I am not even close to being a moderator feel free to ignore this, but I think we are drifting off the subject of Jim Jordan.

That being said I had a job that placed me in immigration court rooms where I actually saw the faces of the spouses and children old enough to understand when a family member was ordered deported. They were faced with a decision if the spouse was a lawful permanent resident or citizen, go with the person that was ordered deported or stay in the United States.

We had two dockets a detained (lot of people fresh from prison) and a non-detained (those that really did want to work to support their families) I cannot speak to courts in larger areas but at that time we did not have a measurable skip rate. The vast majority of non-detained did show up for their hearings. In fact a lot were in fact eligible for at least one of the forms of relief from removal available at the time.

We also sent judges to two nearby state prisons to conduct deportation hearings prior to persons having completed their sentence so they could go from prison to their native country.

Regarding the wall. First a lot of politicians and celebrities that say walls do not work have walls or fences around their abodes. Why, if they don't work? Next a strong wall is in fact a life saving measure. The fewer people that can cross from Mexico into the desert the fewer people that die trying to cross that desert.

Okay now that I am as guilty as others of drifting from the subject let me return you to our regularly scheduled should Jim Jordan resign thread. Thanks for you indulgence.

Opining that someone should have known something is not a valid accusation that the person actually did know. I could tell someone that my neighbor should have known it was going to rain. Doesn't mean I can prove my neighbor watched the same weather forecast that I did. Same with this recent "victim" his opinion that Jordan should have known is just that, his opinion.
