Ok class, this is heroin.

...and vicodin

Take note of the close similarities between these. It looks like big pharma just tweaked a few things. Now you right-wing anti pot people just ask yourself if you'd rather we use pain killers that are derived from cannibis or would you rather us keep using drugs that are derived very closely from heroin? You don't have to think pot is harmless, but you at least agree heroin is vile and a lot worse than weed, right?

I forgot 100% of the organic chemistry I learned in high school, so I'll just contribute the observation that all those molecules look like obese ants eating little letters and numbers.

Careful with that argument...just one or two changes to an organic molecule can mean a huge difference in toxicity.

Hey a novel concept... Don't use anything. If you want to blur your reality take a drink. It's legal.

What are marijuana's long-term effects on the brain?

https://www.drugabuse.gov/publications/research-reports/marijuana/what-are-marijuanas-long-term-effects-brain

Distribution of cannabinoid receptors in the rat brain. Brain image reveals high levels (shown in orange and yellow) of cannabinoid receptors in many areas, including the cortex, hippocampus, cerebellum, and nucleus accumbens (ventral striatum).

Memory impairment from marijuana use occurs because THC alters how the hippocampus, a brain area responsible for memory formation, processes information. Most of the evidence supporting this assertion comes from animal studies. For example, rats exposed to THC in utero, soon after birth, or during adolescence, show notable problems with specific learning/memory tasks later in life. Moreover, cognitive impairment in adult rats is associated with structural and functional changes in the hippocampus from THC exposure during adolescence.

I'm definitely an imperfect messenger for what I'm about to say, but alcohol is pretty damn awful for your health too. And I'm not arguing for pot because I personally can't stand the stuff.

But I think if you absolutely had to pick a poison, pot would probably be the least destructive of them all.

What is vile about heroin?

Babies, children and adolescents aren't supposed to use cannabis, certainly not on a regular basis for sure.

Now do the long term effects on the brain for 90% of the pills pushed by Big Pharma.

The nub of the weed issue is that as America melts down legal weed is going to be essential for keeping the riots down.

However, I point out that if we dont know after all these decades what the risks of weed are (and the benefits as well), it has to be because we did not want to know badly enough to go find out.

Highly addictive

Of course it is, anything that makes someone feel good is addictive. It doesn't make it vile. The entire concept of blaming inanimate objects for the actions of people seems rather idiotic to me. Heroin and any other opioid are not the problem but the people that let it rule over their lives and have no self control.

I keep hoping that working and doing a good job for the customer will catch on. ;)

Most use such recreational drugs to help lose self control (but they generally say that it just lessens inhibitions).

True, my fear is all these people laying all the blame on opiates rather then properly on the individual misusing them is going to cause an outcry to ban them placing those who have actual need for them in undeserved pain and stress because some are unable to handle such drugs. I had a serious issue with my back that required surgery and my life would have been a living hell had it not been for being able to take oxycontin for pain relief during my recovery.

Heroin is physically addictive,I had a friend addicted when he couldn't get it,feces would run out of his anus as a liquid.
