She goes to the border to show compassion for these separated children and wears this jacket. It's baffling. Why didn't someone stop her? It totally wrecks whatever goodwill she tried to earn.

While traveling to meet detained children at the Texas border, First Lady Melania Trump wore a jacket with a message printed on the back: "I REALLY DON'T CARE, DO U?," Daily Mail reports. Photos of FLOTUS boarding her plane at Air Force Base in Maryland don't show the slogan in full, but the Mail identifies the poor outerwear choice as a $39 cargo green jacket from Zara. (It's no longer available online.)


Perhaps on any other occasion, and on any other person, the jacket would've been nothing more than a sassy addition to a casual outfit. A rainy day walk? Sure. Lunch with friends? Have at it. A cold day in the office? If your dress code permits, go right ahead!

Do you ever wonder if Trump has professional political advisors? Even an amateur such as myself might have recommended a different jacket. Just saying.

Sorry, I just don't buy it. It's too coincidental. I think Trump's laughing behind our backs, at what he can get away with.

The point is that the message is cynical and childish, and does not deserve to be a wardrobe item for any self-respecting person.

Of course the term "self-respecting" doesn't include about 99% of the pro-Trump faction. Hell, make that 100%.

I felt the same way but no matter how hard I thought about it, I could not imagine a reason they would intentionally do this. Maybe the reason is just so stupid it's unfathomable.

At first, I thought maybe it was some kind of ironic comment.

Why would I care about what Melania Trump cares or doesn't care about. She now has the Morticia Addams role in the Addams Family presidency, the most morbid, abysmal, inhuman, uncaring and bombastically self-agrandizing presidency in the modern era.
 
It's a statement. No ifs ands or buts about it.
When has Melania ever worn anything that cost under $50 shipped?

I just heard an interesting point brought up by Lawrence O'Donnell. Apparently the coat cost only $40. Anyone who's familiar with the lifestyle of Melina, before or after becoming First Lady, knows how weird wearing that truly is. Maybe she found it at Walmart.

The rich and famous, just don't wear $40 anything, so maybe she was making a statement. If so which do you think is more probable?

The message is that the entire Trump clan is completely disconnected from the lives of most Americans. The message is that there is simply nothing as petty or as fraudulent as a Trump or excuse me, a Drumpf since Drumpf is the actual family name before it was changed. The message is that the entire family is cracking like a coconut and why should that be a surprise.
 
Maybe they forced her to do this fake caring trip and she wore it in defiance.
 
Meh...she knows the deal now. Basically, the media and the left are so hate filled, they would complain no matter what she wore. She used the laser light and cat routine...
