Trump's Minnesota Rally - women's unemployment lowest in 65 years!

Generally, women didn't start participating in the workforce until after WW2. So saying women's unemployment is the lowest in 65 years is kind of misleading.

To calculate unemployment rates you count the number of unemployed in the labor force. A labor force is defined as the people who are willing and able to work. So let’s see if you’re right.

There were 1,170,800 people in America in 1750 (268 years ago) Women in the labor force worked as cloth spinners, milliners, dyers, embroiderers, washerwomen, waitresses, fruit pickers, barmaids, brewers, bakers, confectioners, food sellers, domestic servants, midwives and many other jobs.

Even if there were only a hundred thousand women working in 1750, you would still be able to establish an unemployment rate. For instance, if the female labor force was 120,000 and 20,000 were unemployed, the unemployment rate would be 16.67%.

So saying that under Trump women now have the lowest unemployment in 65 years is not misleading. It is correct. Blacks now have the lowest unemployment rate ever. They should be dancing in the streets.

He was referring to black people in general. Claiming black people, or Mexicans, or any other minority lack sense, as a group, is racist.

Not 'lack sense' it was the sense concerning a particular person. A whole nation or group of people (like the Japanese) can misjudge one particular person, and if they did, a Japanese man might say, "We Japanese didn't have the sense to trust him," and it would be perfectly okay and would have nothing to do with racism.

I watched Trump’s latest rally (see below) in Duluth, Minnesota. It was better than most because the camera people showed the crowd a number of times. Trump also mentioned that women's unemployed is now the lowest in 65 years.

This takes claiming credit for nothing you did, to another level. Biggest stretch I've seen yet.

Placard waving and Fake News. You were always going to say that when Trump gave you record unemployment, and had unemployment stayed the same or gone up, you were always going to roast him for that. Predictable and boring.

Finding Victim Culture molded blacks with the capacity to act on their own power against the stream of the Group Think is no small thing.

I have never understood Kanye, but I understand him better today than I did yesterday.

I know quite a few. Maybe it's geographic in its nature. I am in a more rural area though.

Hey, I call it as I see it, regardless of who it is.

Yeah, it was clear they had nothing to lose as he said, but next time around there'll be a lot more black votes.

That's why the dems don't want a fix on immigration...they need these voters desperately.

What do those things, before Obama, have to do with you? And what did Obama do? Bottom line, most Democrat controlled inner cities are complete government failures, are they not? You as a party have completely failed black people throughout your party's entire history.

I now, right? What those damn Democrats did to black people for the last 50 years is simply terrible. Black people had it so much better when they were segregated and were second class citizens living under Jim Crow laws. What the hell was that idiot LBJ and all those damn liberal judges thinking?

Oh, yes, you have Brown skin so your opinion matters more...right? I'm just supposed to bow and agree with you because that's how the oppression Olympics work. Well, screw that. Add some substance to your comment, not just who you are. Your last comment was about how you couldn't find a Black guy in the crowd, despite only 2.3% of Duluth being Black, maybe half of people are politically knowledgeable, then about 45% of the Black population is male, or something close to that. Why would you even expect to see many Black people. In a crowd of a few thousand maybe there should be a few dozen. And if you actually studied the demographics of who went, I bet there were some Black people there, you just didn't see them. It's not like a few dozen people would really jump out.

I speculate you did not read the entire thread. Your reading comprehension appears suspect. One of my comments in post #45 read as follows:

I already understood White People rank higher than us darker-shaded folks.

I live, work and have laid my roots in Florida for decades... graduate of UF College of Business, self-employed R.E. Broker, father of four daughters. Florida, with significantly different demographics than Minnesota, had 29 electoral votes at play in the 2016 election. Chump, to my chagrin, took 58 out of 67 counties, won the popular vote by roughly 120K votes (1.2% margin). Black Voters maintain Majority in only one (Gadsden County) of those 67. Chump lost that county by a large margin.

In your view, I qualify as a Racist and you as a non-Racist right? I asked if Chump's Brand of Idiocy resonated with you. Your response spoke volumes.

Yes, you qualify as a racist and I a non-racist, because you judge the value of a person by their skin color and I judge people as individuals. You speculate that I did not read the entire thread, but then you state that my reading comprehension appears suspect. Which one is it? Those two contradict each other. Well, the truth is that I read every last comment in this thread. I read your victim-complex comment, but that does not change the fact that you think White people supporting Trump is less meaningful than a Black person supporting Trump. After all, you did complain about how you couldn't see a Black person at Trump's rally. You know what I didn't do? Look at what race people were.

And as for your complaint about Trump winning Florida, do you really expect me to feel bad for you because the majority of Floridians wanted Trump over Hillary? People are individuals, and they all get to choose who to vote for (or to not vote at all). Your person didn't win. Get over it. I bet your person won when Obama won twice. Do you see how you are judging all of this by racial groups? You wouldn't be complaining if the majority Black vote candidate won. That shows you value Black people over White people. White people are lesser in your eyes, not equal.

Two factors confirm a noticeable issue with your reading comprehension: 1. you read the entire thread and 2. the laughable content of your responses.

If to you "get over it" means something along the lines of "... submit to Chump's Brand of Idiocy". Nah.... I leave that to you, you Winner non-Racist. Enjoy it while you can! For the time being, I admit to enjoying Chump from an entertainment perspective!

I spent years coaching in youth leagues. I tried to learn what went right and what went wrong in each game, then enthusiastically looked forward to the next game. I look forward to the end of the Reign of Chump.

I have resided in three US states over the course of 57 years; Louisiana, Texas, and Minnesota.

In the 2016 POTUS general election Louisiana & Texas electoral delegates went to Trump.

In the 2016 POTUS general election Minnesota electoral delegates went to Clinton.
Even tho' I did not vote for Clinton, nor Trump, I am proud to reside in a state that did NOT deliver electoral delegates to Trump.
Minnesota got it right!

As far as Trump's only trip to Minnesota (yesterday) since being elected, I'm glad he chose Duluth & not somewhere in the Twin Cities.
Hopefully Trump will never return to Minnesota, ever again.
As a state we really do not care for his fat smelly ass ...........

I will say one more thing on the subject:
Trump chose to visit an area of Minnesota which is ~95% white, which demonstrates Trump's racist propensity.
See any non whites in that Youtube screen shot? LOL ............

Strange that a sitting President feels the need to have rallies, to stroke hid ego or what?

Well done, LBJ! :applaud

And I'll bet you think a higher percentage of Democrats voted for the Civil Rights Act than Republicans, makes sense, right?

I did see some non-Whites in the shot. It's not racist to visit a city that is majority White. The people of Duluth are people, too, no matter their skin color.

when was the last time you saw Trump go to a rally full of Asian Americans, Mexican Americans, Afro Americans, etc.?

yup, that's what I thought .............

Wow. Almost matches the size of the crowds at the Jonestown cult compound!

That didn't make much sense but I think you were trying to say that most blacks hate Trump. That's changing.

First, Ummm....no. Blacks hate him, and will always hate him. If you seriously believe that Trump can go around claiming that our first African American President was secretly a Muslim born in Kenya, destroy all his policies, and then have the black community love him you're even more delusional than I thought.

Second, the pure and simple fact that you and Trump seem to think that 90% of African Americans are all too stupid to have known what is in their own best interest is in and of itself proof of the immense racism oozing out of Trump supporters.

Did you read the article you linked to?
The Civil Rights Act -- which is best known for barring discrimination in public accommodations -- passed the House on Feb. 10, 1964 by a margin of 290-130. When broken down by party, 61 percent of Democratic lawmakers voted for the bill (152 yeas and 96 nays), and a full 80 percent of the Republican caucus supported it (138 yeas and 34 nays).

When the Senate passed the measure on June 19, 1964, -- nine days after supporters mustered enough votes to end the longest filibuster in Senate history -- the margin was 73-27. Better than two-thirds of Senate Democrats supported the measure on final passage (46 yeas, 21 nays), but an even stronger 82 percent of Republicans supported it (27 yeas, 6 nays).

The primary reason that Republican support was higher than Democratic support -- even though the legislation was pushed hard by a Democratic president, Lyndon B. Johnson -- is that the opposition to the bill primarily came from Southern lawmakers. In the mid 1960s, the South was overwhelmingly Democratic -- a legacy of the Civil War and Reconstruction, when the Republican Party was the leading force against slavery and its legacy. Because of this history, the Democratic Party in the 1960s was divided between Southern Democrats, most of whom opposed civil rights legislation, and Democrats from outside the South who more often than not supported it.

This pattern showed clearly in the House vote. Northern Democrats backed the Civil Rights Act by a margin even larger than that of Republicans -- 141 for, just four against -- while Southern Democrats were strongly opposed, by a margin of 11 yeas to 92 nays.
