Texas billboard tells liberals to keep driving

Disposable income is, well disposable, not really needed.
In the US we are free to spend our money how we see fit.
In this case their money employed the people who printed and put up the billboard,
and the people who maintain it.

Tell me about it.

I bet you're terrified. Without male privilege, what is there? Well, white privilege. And hetero privilege. So maybe just scared.

I bet you're terrified.

Did the maker of that YouTube sound terrified? My reaction would be the same as his. Disgust. Like the feeling you would have if you saw people mistreating animals. Seeing a Russian “zoo” for instance, a concrete box with bears walking around on their own waste, ribs sticking out; open sores, being jabbed with sticks and so on. Such a thing doesn’t terrify – it sickens the viewer. Child abuse sickens me. It should sicken you too.

A billboard in Texas made waves on social media Tuesday after its message was posted online.

"Liberals," the billboard reads. "Please continue on I-40 until you have left our GREAT STATE OF TEXAS."

More.

That’s a novel approach. Like that movie ‘Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.’

Great flick – and though the main character is a woman, there were no feminazis in sight.

Sounds like good advice to any sentient, rational being.

Tejas is a ****hole state well worth either driving through or around.

I think he's just a fan of conservative causes in the US. much like many Americans supported Brexit and I make my way to Chilliwack for the gun show and donate some money to CCFR. I have no problem with an Aussie following our politics.

He's not an Aussie. I recall seeing a post from Rob where he stated he was Canadian.

I could put Coruscant as my location, but that's not going to automatically make me a Jedi.

The idea is to explain why the movie is bad taste. Obviously you have your reasons. What - are they are state secret?

Well, the reason I did not like it was because I felt that I was expected to take the movie seriously when the characters behaved in a way that would, under normal circumstances, either get them arrested or killed. It was like watching a dramatic film that is meant to be realistic while everyone in it acts like one of the protagonists from "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." and, like those protagonists, gets away with it.

At no point does any character face realistic repercussions for their actions. Frances McDormand's character physically assaults people (including students), drills a hole through a dentist's thumb (who admittedly deserved it, but still), and set fire to a police station. And she gets away with it. Never a realistic consequence for her any action whatsoever except to be dressed down by Peter Dinklage for being a horrible, mean, spiteful person who we learn was just as mean and spiteful before her daughter was murdered.

And that is to say nothing of Sam Rockwell's character who beats up a young gay man, throws him out of a window, and casually punches his horrified screaming receptionist in the face. I was expecting him to be thrown in jail for attempted murder. I was half expecting there to be a lawsuit against the Ebbing Police Station that would bankrupt the city government...because that is exactly what would happen under those circumstances. But no. He just has to turn in his gun and his badge. And its all played for laughs.

I felt that everyone in the movie, with a few exceptions (Woody Harrelson's and Peter Dinklage's characters to name two), was made to be extremely unsympathetic, nasty, and cruel. Because of the conflicting tones, I found that I could neither take it funny nor could I take it seriously. It was like a bad Cohen Brothers film.

He is anti-american then.

Not at all - the freedom of States to have their own laws and ideologies is part of the backbone of the constitution. If all of them were slaves to one rule-book it would be more like the Soviet Union. One state might ban gambling while in the next it's legal. The same with speed limits, prostitution, age of consent, drugs, etc. etc. In this case the Texan reckons liberals should go elsewhere. If that theme became popular and others copied him, you would indeed find that liberals would tend to go elsewhere. If Texan lawmakers and politicians got rid of welfare there would be nary a liberal in the State before long.

We need more billboards around the country saying something similar telling the liberal/Demos to move on. They can use the Easy Pass lanes for faster service.

It showed a hairy chinned man-woman and his/her 'wife' raising a kid to think he was a hen.

That lowers a lot of costs. So what if they're frugal. The kid eats and has a roof over his head.

How about this idea - free tickets to Africa plus a $100,000 spending money, as long as the liberal signs a contract promising never to come back. That would be welcomed by the third world continent, and would give the liberal a fresh start. If 50 million liberals took up the offer it would cost American taxpayers $3.683 trillion, but the welfare saved alone would pay that back very quickly. Imagine what a prosperous place the States would be!

Most of those kinds of people are on welfare and many take drugs. Their kids grow up to do the same. I'll bet their home is a government provided one. More costs to the taxpayer.

So a hen ain't so bad. What's your gripe?

I cannot begin to tell you in one year the damage these liberal/Demos have done in destroying America. We had a dictator named barack " sugar hill gang " obama as president and he has deprived our country economically. As a liberal/Demo he has challenged our rights to worship. This dude made a laughing stock at my Republican Party.
-disastrous high priced obamascare.
No need to go long here but the $100.000 should go far...along with the signs.
Great post !

It's a strange one. British parents, dad with itchy foot, so born Canadian; 4 years later back to UK. 1 year later take deal to go to OZ for ten pounds. Canadian passport but Oz accent. Immigration lady rang a few years ago asking questions. She looked it up and said, "Oh yeah, you're one of those! You get to live in either Oz, Britain or Canada.” This is all my dad's fault. Irishman. What can you do?

Those are all good points, and I agree with about half. The part where she burned down the police station went too far, but I was okay with the rest, even with the exaggeration. I have seen instances where cops do get away with murder and assault in real life, so I can accept the part where the cop got away with that violence. Viewers were expected to be outraged that he did so. The exaggeration wasn’t as bad as most action movies these days. Skinny female models beating the crap out of huge thugs as they freefall through exploding fireballs of shrapnel, beating off transformers and landing on asteroids and space objects , without ruffling their hair or makeup. They then stand up, without panting, looking as though they just came out of the beauty salon, and say, “Now let’s get to work!”

So for me the movie was a nice change. Frances McDormand was the closest thing to a female Clint Eastwood I’ve seen, and was very powerful without any feminazi claptrap. Lefties had very little to do with the making of this movie. The main thing though was simply that a person is using their money to get the lazy government off its arse. Beautiful.

In Swedish han means male and hon means female, so the gender benders invented 'hen' which means 'merged gender'. In English it would be liking merging 'him' or 'her' to make, say, 'herm' or 'hirm'. See more at Wikipedia.

Well, that's better than a chicken, right?

Thanks - yes, Obama was a bit of a nightmare. We had our own Obama's over here. Julia Gillard and Kevin Rudd. I just had a shiver up my spine thinking about them. :D
