U.S.To leave the human rights council

LOL ................ so Haley believes the US & Israel hold the moral high ground when it comes to human rights?

the timing for this could not have been any more ironic ............. thanks for the joke Haley ...............

Yep the hypocrisy of the US stand point is glaring.

Listen I dont like that there are human rights abusers on the council... and that includes the US who routinely abuses human rights. Israel is also a known human rights abuser, just as the Sudan is and China and so many more.

If it was to be only non human rights abusers on the council, then there would not be many possible candidates out there.

In trumps defense it would appear to be unbelievably hypocritical to remain a member with our current policies in place, and we all know how he hates to be a hypocrite...

BTW, when did Americans come to the conclusion that it is acceptable to put children in detention camps???

Wow, what completely brilliant timing.

Officially leaving the Human Rights Council because of "anti-Israeli" bias, in the exact middle of a global scandal in which the USA is being accused for separating immigrant children from their parents and holding them in cages.

right after we decided to go after the families of terrorists ............

Early on I thought Haley had potential to rise above the Swamp Party. I was incorrect. Haley drank the Kool-Aid.

America has lost its moral compass. I suppose it is only fitting that we end any official connection to the advocacy of human rights. Remaining on the council would be like Russia and North Korea belonging to the Community of Democracies.

Wait a second. Now that I think about it maybe the United States should resign from the Community of Democracies as well.

Well that has been an effective method of organised crime forever and trump did campaign on running his country the same way he runs his businesses.

You know, illegally incompetent, and by complete slight of hand.

I'd be willing to wager that this was a preemptive move thrown out just before we were to get an international wrist slap by that org for what's trump's doing on our border.

It's absolutely appalling. Our country has been the a holes of the world for a long time. We have killed countless, destroyed the lives of many people through our military action and CIA helping overthrow governments and propping up dictators. The biggest hypocrites in the world pretty much.

it's disgraceful. What's worse is all the phony brainwashed so called "patriots" that refuse to acknowledge just how messed up the US does. WE have so much blood and human rights violations on our hands.

The number one country in imprisonment rate in the industrialized world is not a good indicator of being strong on human rights.

No, it's been floating for weeks if I recall the timeline of when I read the news articles.
However that's not going to be known by 99% of everyone else who reads the news articles.

Where does one put the children of parents in detention awaiting their hearing ??

When Trump decided it was in his political interest to do that.

The only loyalty Trump has is to Trump.Everyone else - and I do mean everyone - is expendable should the proper occasion present itself.

I've got a bunch of questions on this whole human rights deal:

Who defines what human rights are?

What are human rights?

What all qualifies as human rights?

What laws are in place to help protect human rights (I know of set laws/rights that are in one big document, but I want to hear answers to this question anyway)?

Who are the worst offenders of human rights?

Who are the protectors of human rights?

Who are advocates of human rights?

Are there human rights that are actually not human rights? If so, what are those phony human rights (specifically)?

Are there undeniable human rights that should actually be recognized as human rights?

Finally, should human rights be denied to people you don't agree with and/or don't like? If so, why?

I think whenever human rights are brought up, the line is always blurred, and I'm curious as to what everyone else thinks. I think it's very relevant to this thread and article because there has to be a reason behind it. So have at those questions.

"By all appearances, as we approach the mid-point of Trump’s second year in office, that is what Trumpism has become – a millenarian personality cult which invests its leader with an arbitrary, relativistic authority where he can define 'truth' as being whatever he says it is, which psychologically justifies all manner of transparently corrupt and malignant policies embraced by his adherents." - Ed Simon @ History News Network

Well, can't say I'm surprised.

As of late, I don't think the U.S. has any right to sit on any human rights council, anywhere.

We have forfeited our moral high ground.

Sounds like a form of delusional mental illness.
