Bible Passages You Won't See Trump Administration Quoting

So they brought up the Bible first.

And, as I indicated, they'll get castigated for not being Christian. Whereas if they do use the bible to justify an action, they get dumped on for tearing down wall of separation.

I can only speak for myself. I don't mind the Bible or any other religious text being referred to when it is about treating fellow human beings decently. When it is being used to oppress, however...

Not that it matters, but no.

Actually, the question I should ask is do you honestly consider yourself a libertarian. I do not see how any self-respecting libertarian could support an administration that uses religion to warn against criticizing the government. That is about as anti-libertarian as it gets.

So what? They used a quote that says basically "follow the law." OUTRAGEOUS!

No one is being oppressed here.

I don't see "follow the law" as being anywhere close to "shut up and don't criticize meeeeeee!!!!!!"

Even if I did, until they start actually doing something to people who criticize them, they can bluster all they want.

Trump is an embodiment of the modern American evangelical Christian and as such has absolutely nothing to do with biblical Christianity or the philosophy and teachings of Christ. He and his followers are believers in the prosperity gospel like TV evangelists preach. Being wealthy is the number one goal in life and it means that you're directly chosen and blessed by god.

These are the people who quote the old testament when they want to harass gays but when you point out their disobedience to the rest they claim "Oh we don't follow the old testament anymore".

The parable of Supply-Side Jesus

FYI,when Israel became a nation again,we started living not only in New Testament times, but returned to Old Testament times too.

And now I am using the Bible to point out how un-Biblical their policies are. OUTRAGEOUS!

No one is being oppressed here.

Mhm, sure.

That is absolutely their strategy. People have always used religious texts to shut down debate. I am just throwing it right back at them.

In the words of your dear leader Trump, "Believe me," he is getting on that, specifically trying to mold libel/slander laws to his liking.
