Donald Trump Actually Seems to Believe He Denuclearized North Korea

Trump grandly welcomed Erdogan to Washington, and his thug bodyguards attacked American protesters.

Trump never said a word about that.

Whoa! That's right. I had forgotten all about that. So much **** has happened since then. I now remember thinking at the time that it was only the beginning.

What on earth does that mean? Do you honestly think that if Obama had met with the Kim in power then, that the Rightwingers would have suddenly changed their minds and declared him a man of action who had accomplished something? Really???!!!

We will never know, will we?

But Trump did accomplish something: He brought Kim Jong Un to the table when no other President had met with the North Koreans, and this is at least a beginning.

He could have brought Kim to the table without the PR stunt of it all, which wasn't in the best interests of America

What was the PR stunt?

What was the PR stunt?

Trump was looking for a political win more than anything else... the photo opt, the media press, etc... It wasn't necessary, and the reason Trump planned it the way he did, is obvious. American presidents have sent delegates to sit at the table (as you said) with the NKs before. Obama arranged the Iran Deal over the course of years and with private meetings. Trump wanted the photo op and the media press. What Trump managed to do serves for drama more than it serves as a serious documented agreement of denuclearization.

I am not throwing a fit because he didn't hit a home run either. All I am saying is that there is a reason no other presidents have given the NKs what Trump did, but many of them have been "at the table" just not as publicly at the table. The only good thing about Trump's current state of mind is that he is calmer towards NK instead of threatening Kim Jung un on twitter, but, knowing Trump, that could quickly change.

LOL....Donald Trump didn't bring Kim Jong Un to the table....Kim Jong Un manipulated Donald Trump to the table....something that he hasn't been able to do with any other US President. Trump was gullible enough for him to play.

AND... he got Trump to give him a reach-around as Trump was, well, you saw it......

I see: You are unwilling to give President Trump any credit at all.

Kim Jong Un has been dying to get a seat at the table with the US. How hard do you think it was for Trump to convince him to get the photo op that he has been begging for for years? Honestly?
