Trump Salutes NK General

Hahaha, the standard deflection response.

I remember the righties getting their panties in a bunch over Obama bowing and such to foreign dignitaries. But that's all forgotten now that it's trump. So if it was Obama or any D for that matter, it's bad. But since it's Trump, it's ok.

HAHAHAHAHAHA

You partisans crack me up...I mean, if your hyperpartisanship wasn't choking out the Republic.
You got the wrong guy because you won't find anything I said bad about for showing dignitaries from abroad respect. Maybe the left is so bad at negotiations is because they don't u Der stand why it's not a good idea to insult people you want something from

Oh, you want to talk about Obama, do you? Oh, no, that was just a lame "in" to attack Teh Left.

I do hope you're awake to the fact that the people you are trying to deflect from blew up in outrage when Obama so much as suggested talking to NK. Talking to arabic countries was called an "apology tour". Unfortunately, you're attempt to divert the thread to what you say calamity would do doesn't erase what most of the right in fact did do, in far less objectionable circumstances - the same people who are now praising/defending Trump's every move with NK, including a paragraph's worth of praise-words for Kim and kissing this general's ass. (All for a vague promise to maybe do something some years down the road)
It wasn't a vague promise. It was a pledge to disarm. Continue to concern yourself with a few compliments Trump gave him or some flowery gestures of respect that he offered up. Not my problem.

Our president is doing the best he can with the mess he inherited

Oh, a pledge? Like the one he's made many times before?

You're president is an idiot and the next one will be the one inheriting a mess. This moron inherited a booming economy in it's 7th year of continuous expansion.

And all it took for the right to be outraged was that Obama wore a tan suit once.

Here is your dictator saluting the most evil regime in the world. You elected this moron.

I agree... the righties should be fuming at the mouth over this... this is "bendgate" 2.0...actually it might be worse. However... as you said, "crickets"...

The General saluted first, what's the big deal?

It is outrageous, look at it!

Didn't Obama once shake somebody's hand and they freaked out? I didn't think it was such a big deal, because he was shaking a lot of people's hands in a line.

Trump is an idiot, and he admittedly didn't prepare for this summit. Had his dumbass prepared, somebody would have probably warned him to not do such a thing. It all comes down to Trump being an ignorant fool.

Trump loyalists should go on an apology tour throughout America... :2razz:

What pledges has he made and when?

He has only been in power since 2012

He = NK in that instance. NK has promised similar things something like eight times, with other promises to boot. There is no reason to think Kim is different. There was at first given his partial western education, but not based on what we know now.

Where's the distinction? Are we doing the much-mocked hope & change thing with them? Like his forebears, he rules with an iron fist over misery. Obama was dishonestly mocked for even suggesting talking to them, so too was anyone that didn't agree with that dishonest mockery. Now I'm supposed to turn on a dime and hope Kim found the good side of the force?

Man, I want this to be real. But all signs are to the contrary. The best pro-Trump position would be heavily guarded vague optimism. Instead I'm seeing you give him a chance you poopyface lefty. Yeah, ok. Why should Trump get a chance? As a business man, he bankrupted everything he touched but got rich anyway - a conman. Everything he's done internationally thus far has been pissing on our allies, ripping up agreements, and sucking up to authoritarians. (Duterte, Putin, Kim, Xi, etc).

He's also the biggest liar. Various papers have run Trump quotes contrasted with links to recorded information contradicting him. He's up past 3,000 or so, last I checked....which was months ago. (Let me guess: "all politicians lie (so ignore the exponential difference)". mmm?).

And I'm supposed to forget the last 10 years of raging bull****, I'm supposed to forget Trump's prolonged campaign of rage/mockery, and I'm supposed to give him a chance even though this agreement means something?

Isn't it painfully obvious now that the only reason Kim built up nukes was so that we would negotiate them down again, instead of starting at a non-nuke NK and negotiating them lower? We were never going to use military force (and I agree with not using it given the fact that they actually aren't a security risk). He knew it, we knew it, Trump knows it. So now Kim gets to make vague promises without consequences for failure, to happen years in the future - how many is up for debate - in exchange for getting rid of the nukes he continued building to force this situation.

And we get....what?

Ah but what do we get? Trump is using this as pro-Trump proganda (duh), and so too is Kim. Kim's regime is releasing commercials showing Trump respecting NK, saluting generals, etc. All that just feeds into one arm of his grip on the miserable North Koreans. Meanwhile Trump gets undeserved praise from people who don't have the slightest clue what any of the kerfluffle has been about other than the lone fact we fought NK in the 50s.

To butcher a quote, this is a farce within a satire within slapstick; a tale told by an idiot.

What pledges he made and when.... what a contemptible deflection.

lol...you really would rather the US be like North Korea.

I sincerely apricot the time and effort you invested in explaining yourself. Very well done.

I think your being overly jaded about it but maybe I'm being overly optimistic.

Regardless of how either of us feel the deal has been made and now we will see how it plays out. I hope for all of us that my opinion is closer to the truth than yours.

If Kim does go back on his word I think your wrong about military action not being a distinct possibility. I think Trump has decided that he is going getting those nukes away from Kim by any means necessary. I think Kim knows it and China knows it too.

If this doesn't wake up the Trumpkins, nothing will.

Will it?

They all looked shocked at Trump's stupidity.

I honestly think this whole "Trump did a salute" thing is being made out to be bigger than it is.

Was it stupid? Possibly, but it isn't exactly a massive problem to get worked up over - just like Obama's "bow" wasn't.

The real problem is Trump's weird praise for Kim, saying he was someone who loved his people and talking about their "special bond" and whatnot. I don't have anything against him trying to denuclearize Korea - hell, if it happened, it would be great news. But this support for Kim is nothing short of unordinary. (And yes, I know it's likely not "genuine" praise, but it doesn't change the fact that speaking positively about a totalitarian dictator who runs one of the most corrupt regimes in the modern world is not something that looks good on you or the nation you run.)

If not, what are you talking about?

What does this mean?

You are President is an idiot...

That doesn't make sense.
