Morning Joe: 'The GOP Has Devolved Into Trumpist Cult'

https://www.newsbusters.org/blogs/2018/06/13/morning-joe-gop-has-devolved-trumpist-cult

Not even 24 hours removed since the most potentially impactful foreign policy summit in a generation, the mainstream media has returned to its Trump-bashing obsession. On Wednesday morning, MSNBC host Joe Scarborough declared: “Primary voters in the Republican Party have devolved into a Trumpist cult.”

The insults were aided by national affairs analyst John Heilemann, “It's clear that conservatism, liberalism, voting records, none of those things matter, it's a cult of personality and the president has an extraordinary hold over his base.”
===================================
Cults of personality remind me of the rise of Hitler & other tyrants.

I think many Trumpsters can't see that the seeds of a tyrant have been planted, and it's now at the seedling stage. What will it take for them to realize it? A full grown tree? Then it will be too late.

Sure, he won. No one is arguing that. I am merely pointing out that his support is not even as strong as the last two guys that ran and lost. He just lucked out by running against a terrible candidate.

She was your choice, and you guys were certain she'd win.

Well, there's another saying, "a conspiracy theory is just that, until it's a real conspiracy".

Godwin's law is a real internet phenomenon, and like the boy who cried wolf, just remember, wolfs do exist and appear from time to time.

Methinks, this time, we are witnessing the genuine article.

Sorry, but these seeds exist only in the fevered imaginations of Trump's opponents. Trump has done nothing to suggest that he's any danger to democracy or the Constitution. It's you guys who corrupted the IRS, the FBI, the State Department, and much of the rest of the Executive Branch, not Trump. It's Trump who the entrenched elites of Washington, DC are all up in arms against because Trump is trying to reduced the power of the federal government. If he wanted to be a dictator he'd be doing the opposite.

I realize trying to reason with you guys is pointless, but maybe others will be amused.

He's a bum to you because he says mean things about Trump.

I don’t pay much attention to him. I was simply stating my opinion...which, of course is a common one due to the ratings.

No, no. They should go on as they are doing. Trump gains support with everything they say.

It wasn't very long ago that Trump was anathema to the Republican Party. Now he owns it, according to them. They are saying that Trump supporters are just mindless cultists and that Republicans are mindless Trump cultists.

Scott Adams, the cartoonist who has correctly predicted much of what Trump has done and what the reaction would be, said that as Trump's successes pile up his enemies would become more and more shrill and irrational. So now we are down to the Trump Cult, Trump as a North Korean real estate developer, Trump in bed with Putin/Kim, Trump as a danger to democracy, Trump will start WWIII, Trump as Hitler, you name it.

The threat that Trump represents to democracy and the Constitution exists only in the heads of Trump's enemies. Trump in no way represents a danger to democracy or the constitution, or civil rights. There's not a scintilla of evidence to support that idea.

It was an easy prediction to make on Scott's part, but still.

I am Anti Civil War even though I am a member of the Rebellion.

If it has to be war then so be it, but we should be able to manage to be better, we should be able to listen and talk and learn from each other.

Americans could do all of this once upon a time, back in the GOOD OLD DAYS.
