The consensus is that Kim Jong-un is the main winner after that summit

I see Trump is lying again, claiming that the parents of dead Korean soldiers have asked him to bring the bodies back. Given that the war ended 65 years ago, I somehow doubt it, lol. Clearly maths is not Trump's strong point.

Truth: We can resume exercises at any time.

do you really think that joint exercises are critical to the security of the korean peninsula? Sure, they help make sure that our military, and the south korean military, can work together, but it's not like he asked us to withdraw from the DMZ, or leave our bases in Japan and Guam, which according to CNN, was what his father was asking for. This is small potatoes by comparison. But you're treating it as if a nuclear war would be better, ONLY because his name is Trump.

The "could" resume according to Pompeo if the North Korean's discontinue good faith negotiations. These negotiations have not been in "good faith" from day 1 because KJU is not going to give up his nukes. So based on that standard the training exercises never should have been suspended. KJU will carry those nukes to his eventual grave having died of old age if he keeps his head which I expect him to do. Ten years from now if we play our cards right he might have come out of the darkness and maybe twenty years from now will have given up some number of nukes...MAYBE. If that happens it will have NOTHING to do with these so called negotiations.

The way out for us is to end the war and then support China and SK in an effort to bring NK out of the darkness. Now that we have legitimized KJU we literally have nothing to offer him that he cares about which means none of these negotiations are going anywhere. Why should they anyway. He was not going to launch! All nonsense...all theater....all fabricated for the personal benefit of two people....KJU and Donald Trump.

Donald says about KJU "I think we understand each other". Truest words that ever passed Donald's lips. What Donald simply does not understand is how meaningless the things that we have to offer KJU in negotiation are to KJU. How utterly ridiculous it is to think that a massive infusion of US cash in NK helps KJU or that he would think it would help him, how little faith KJU would have in any statements of "protection" made by Trump. How completely impossible it is for KJU to do anything at all on the kind of timeline that interests Donald. Do you really think these other countries are run by dunce caps just because we elected one?

This is the first negotiation Kim Jong Un has done, and CIA reports showed him to be significantly pro-western than his brothers. Are you suggesting we should treat him the same as his father?

Quite a judgement from someone who has never even attended the talks.
