No, because China wouldn't allow an external regime change, and neither the US or China can afford a shooting war.

It is a dumb question because there is no chance that Kim will drop his nukes and open his border.

But until that truth becomes apparent Trump will bask in the “optics”, and even after the truth becomes apparent to rational people Trump will lie about it.

I have seen enough of you over the years to know you are far more intelligent than the run-of-the-mill, opiod-addled white drop-out trailer trash that makes up the Trump “core”. You know I tried to give Trump the benefit of the doubt on this one because half the time Trump actually does not know what the f--k he is talking about. So I figured, who knows what the heck he is referring to here and its not in the "letter" they signed anyway.

But now, as the hours go past, it does appear that Trump is intending to cancel the War Games, not the exercises but what is referred to as the War Games which are not in this case digitized warfare. They are actual in the flesh War Games conducted with SK. They are the most irritating to NK of all the joint military activities the US conducts with SK. China does not like them and Russia does not like them either. Neat combination of critics that.

So yes folks, Trump told nobody in his own defense department and nobody from SK that he was going to announce cancelling this most irritating to NK joint military exercises. In fact, he apparently told nobody at all before announcing it.

These have long been considered a statement of US power in the region as well as joint military exercises considered the most effective we have. They have been considered worthwhile on a number of scores most related to the fact that a state of formal war still exists on the Peninsula. Trump gave that away for NOTHING!

The degree to which Trump simply throws allies under the bus at will is simply nuts. What the f--k did SK do to deserve this?

I have had it with this guy right up the neckline. He is a fat, useless, tub of lard that is as dangerous as all get out and nothing more than a loose canon of the first order. He is a whack job fingering the trigger of a loaded handgun while pointing it at our heads and I am frankly tired of hearing about the wonders of the Donald. This is particularly annoying because many of us knew this was where we were headed months and months ago and HERE WE ARE!!!!

China and Russia are very happy. 45 has served them well. They strongly objected to our joint exercises with ROK.

Pompeo (former director of the CIA) probably told Kim through that back channel, "Ok, I'm SECSTATE, now. If you want to do this, now's the time".

Those excercises were never aimed at training for an engagement with the Chicoms, nor the Russians, anyway. The contengency is an invasion by the Norks.

Trump cancelled nothing, he frooze the joint ops while negotiations between the U.S. and the North continue.

Seems all the spin calamity is concerned about is coming from the left.

He's the commander in chief. He doesn't require anyone's permission. The excercises aren't cancelled permanently.

Getting the remains of our POW's back means nothing to you?
 
And the North Korean State run news agency is now claiming that Trump has committed to discontinuing the joint military exercises AND will end sanctions.

So now what Donald. You told us that at least the US sanctions would remain. Are you going to claim KJU stabbed you in the back? Are you going to claim he is lying?

Or how about Obama actually worked to get a deal done with Iran that gave us what we want NK to do, and what did the right do? So then you agree with Trump. That's a surprise.
But the distinction between what Obama did and what Trump has begun to do is enormous. For one thing, NK already has nukes.
If the NK deal looks like the Iran deal it would be a disaster. Congress won't let that happen.
Oh yeah that's another difference, Obama didn't bother with Congress.
