President Trump Proposes ZERO Tariffs, ZERO Barriers, and ZERO Subsidies at G7 Summit (VIDEO)

I think it is rhetoric designed to get concessions. Its a bargaining ploy.

I see...we accuse our closest friends and allies in the world of misdeeds so we can twist their arm into giving us deals that hurt their own countries and economies. And this is the direction of a "Great America"?

The Europeans like the status quo. Trump doesn't. If we get better trade deals out of it, that's all that matters.

So our reputation in the world does not matter one bit?

I kinda feel like you guys wanna turn the US into the sleezy pawn shop broker that nobody trusts.

First of all, I don't buy that our reputation has taken a hit. Plus I think we put way too much weight on what other countries think of us. We should do what is in our interests, if European socialists don't like it, ****em. What are they going to do about it?

If those deals that benefit their own countries do so by hurting the US, then yes.

What would it take to convince you that it has?

Move to form trade deals and alliances with China that exclude us.

I don't know and Im not sure I would care if such evidence existed. To be honest, I don't care what Europeans think about, well, anything.

Let em.

I think this poster said it best.

That's how I react to a bully in real life. Bullies insult you, act with no integrity, and give you little reason to trust them. I don't give into bullies. There are better, honest, and more reliable people out there to engage in business with. Giving into bully tactics always puts you at a disadvatage.

When our economy lies in shambles because you felt the other 6 biggest economies in the world were not worth trading fairly and honestly with, I hope you remember your words..."Let em."

Not much credibility with the David Duke icon.... Just saying! :doh

David Duke is an American Patriot. He knows what is best for this nation. We should all adhere to his brilliant ideology.

It is not. Trump is not serious about it. He is muddying the waters. He knows his supporters do not follow trade policy so there is no political risk saying things that sound good but run counter to what he has previously claimed.

What Trump does want is to eliminate trade deficits on goods while maintaining surpluses on services. That is why Canada is pissed. We have a trade surplus with them but Trump is intentionally ignoring services like education and finance to argue we have a trade deficit and try to punish them with tarriffs that are unwarranted.

education has nothing to do with trade. do you realize that your not making any sense? who cares if we have a surplus? is it fair that if you ship an item to me i mark it up 10-15% but when my goods come to you it is marked up 2%.
don't you think you would get a little pissed off?

I already see Trump's stat that we face a 270% tarriff on dairy in Canada trending among his supporters but why isn't he mentioning that the U.S. restricts dairy imports to 3% of domestic consumption? How hypocritical is it for him to complain they are protecting their industry from surplus when we are doing the same damn thing while exporting nearly five times as much milk to them as they are to us! We aren't even paying for the damn tarriff, the Canadian consumer is! They are apparantly happy to pay more for milk to have a stable and wealthy dairy industry. Trump's argument makes more sense as a Canada First argument than an America First argument!

It is all bluster and show.
does it matter how much of it comes in? the fact is we do pay 270%. that is outrageous more so when we don't need to.
we can make more than enough milk. so why are we paying 270% even if it is just 3%.

i don't think you understand how tarriffs work.

0 tarriffs etc would open up more markets to US products.

more doom and gloom nonsense.
you need to get your tds under control.

Education has nothing to do with trade? Foriegners don't come to our universities and colleges? We don't set up schools in foriegn countries? Really? How ****ing stupid.

Is it fair that we subsidize our milk market to the point they toss over 100 million gallons? Is it fair that we cap milk imports at 3% of domestic consumption? I don't think you understand how subsidies and caps work.

You seem fine with the 350% tarriff we place on tobacco imports.

I think you need to get your TFS under order.

whatever that is i don't have it.

unlike you. So far all the doom and gloom prophecies of the other nonsense has proven to be false.

Not really. Yes they do and that has nothing to do with our trade agreements. Yes what you said was pretty stupid.

Well if you read in full trump said no tarriffs not export taxes and no subsidies. so it sounds like those subsidies would go away.

we weren't talking about tobacco and please don't tell me what my position is or whether i agree to something.
you are projecting which is a fallacy.

again your projection is just that. keep your projections to yourself.

Services have nothing to do with trade agreements? That is your position? You really want to make that argument?

Well if you read in full trump said no tarriffs not export taxes and no subsidies. so it sounds like those subsidies would go away.

It is more likely we will start calling them a different name. Not exactly easy for us to say we won't when we are already flouting the rules and renegotiating in bad faith.

we weren't talking about tobacco and please don't tell me what my position is or whether i agree to something.

No, what I am projecting is you are uninformed and have little to no idea what you are talking about.

again your projection is just that. keep your projections to yourself.

And TDS is your go to when you have no valid counter. If you don't want "projections" then don't use them.

How is this similar to what Obama and Hillary wanted?

Wow, you’re just lost.

NAFTA and TDP were FREE TRADE agreements. Free trade is about removing trade barriers.

Trump ran against free trade. Now he’s proposing free trade on a massive scale. He’s now officially a globalist.

It’s laughable. Not only is Trump too dumb to understand that he’s promoting globalism but his supporters are just as confused.

David Duke is a dimwitted National Socialist (Nazi) with no understanding of how the world works. He is about as brilliant as my ass.
