Gun bans? Lets start with video games, movies, and television.

No kidding, genius: Consumers aren't going to give up the guns they have to pay for which are explicitly designed to injure or kill - I know that - and hence I pointed out that producers are much, much, much less likely to give up the violent media that they make a fortune off which don't directly harm anyone.

No, I think that your "serious proposal" is completely and utterly ridiculous in this little thing we call the real world - even more obviously ridiculous than a corresponding 'serious proposal' for everyone to voluntarily give up their guns would be. Perhaps your thinking really is so blinkered that you genuinely don't understand this.

Major change to gun laws at a national level might require the support of 60-80% of the population, perhaps. Unlikely. Voluntarily ending the production and sale of media portraying violence would require 100% support of either consumers or all current and potential producers. Impossible. Again, your "serious" thinking is so mind-numbingly warped on this issue, it seems, that you simply don't understand how ridiculous your 'proposal' is :(
You are doing a great job of demonstrating just how unserious mindless hate filled leftists are when it comes to discussing the problem.

It all comes down to THE PARENTS.

Parents need to be more aware of kids and their problems if they have any.

There are millions of people who grow up around guns and never hurt anyone.

Exactly and those kind of people should still be able to own guns but we need to prevent them from being bought and used as a tool by people who want to commit mass shootings.

How do we go about that? Without flushing The Constitution down the toilet, that is.
