maybe is not 'mass shootings'...maybe society has just gone to hell.

Then why doesn't ANY OTHER country have a problem with school children being slaughtered?
Why didnt we have these problems at these levels 30 years ago when we had just as many firearms per capita, when schools had gun clubs, and students kept hunting rifles in their ****ing cars? For that matter 20 years ago?

Society is going to ****. Blaming the problem on guns is simple minded and stupid. You are welcome to blame the problem on guns.

It's your country man. You're the one loves guns and wants to keep insane people armed.

I have no answer to America's problems especially murders. Nothing has changed since I lived there in my teens except the death toll being much larger.

You can't blame it on "society" unless you say "American society" since NO OTHER COUNTRY has that problem....and in that statement is your solution.

Take it, or leave it, but stop wailing about dead kids. You can end it with the stroke of a pen.

It's on you not on some boogie man "society" ****

I'm sorry this is the dumbest argument. We don't have a time machine. We are not going back to the 50's. They were a horrible time for LOTS of people. We live now. We need to do what works now.

Every country with low gun deaths has effective gun control. Period.

I believe I DID say it is OUR society that is going to hell. It is an undeniable fact that we had the same per capita firearm ownership 30 years ago as today an didnt have these problems.

I admit...I dont much give a **** about your country...and I damn sure wouldnt waste any time on a bulletin board talking about your country. Dont know about Vancouver..so I dont know why a google search of Vancouver shows a 40% increase in the homicide rate in Vancouver in 2017. But I do know in this country there is an overall decline in society.

Total buill****.

We've had two murders this year. We have the lowest crime rate of any city in north America. Why is it every time you right wingers get called lout on your gun policy you have to lie about Canada? Does that make you feel better about living in a society that assassinates children? Does it make it all OK if we have big crime?

You should learn to run a check before lying...

Overall crime rate in Vancouver went down in 2017, VPD says | CBC News

This is what you get when you type 'Vancouver crime rate"

https://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&...j0i131k1j0i10k1j0i13k1j33i160k1.0.MhKwvTcykik

Now go be petty and retaliate with lies somewhere else.

This reminds me of bridal freak-outs.

Folks are so dead set on having a perfect experience, they'll ruin it if they can't have their way.

I see similar things at work, where a vendor messes up and suddenly it's more important that a detailed record of the mess up is created than it is that the mess be cleaned up.

I don't know what the cause is, but I'm very glad that I seem to have missed it by a generation.

No. There is not. There's not a damn dime's worth of difference.

Dood...I shoot with liberals. I fish with liberals. I camp with liberals. Hell...I would proudly classify myself as a Kennedy Democrat..a TRUE liberal...someone that is fiscally conservative, strong on defense and service, and willing to engage personally in the support of mankind.

we disagree.

I guess Google lied about you in 2017 then. But again..since I dont much give a **** about your country.... wouldnt really know.
Vancouver’s homicides rise in 2017, while Surrey reports decrease | Vancouver Sun

Now...you go ahead and feel free to shove your claim of 'lies' up your pathetic ass.

And guns make that very easy

You think everything is the fault of guns. Your obsessive Anti-Gun sentiment is pathetic.

Try blaming the lack of religion in kids' lives.
Try lack of parental supervision (especially parents who think electronic devices are the perfect babysitter).
Try lack of vigilance from law enforcement who keep missing the obvious warning signs (ya..i'm talkin' about you, FBI and Broward's Cowards!).
Try Hollywood and video game companies marketing violence to kids (and in Hollywood's case, being hypocritical at the same time when it comes to guns).

<drop the mic>

Yeah...their ****ing egos get in the way. Primadonnas.

What country has fixed those problems, has lax gun laws and low gun deaths.

Newsflash......it can't be done

But the videos posted address graduation brawls, not school shootings. I think what Vance Mack is saying, and if so, I've said the same, is that there has been a coarsening in society itself, a blurring of boundaries. People give themselves permission to "act out" in ways we just didn't when I was growing up. It's nothing these days to hear people loudly swearing in stores and parking lots and wearing "...dicks are for chicks" t-shirts and road-raging and otherwise behaving uncivilly.

All the more reason to regulate guns

Wow. Holy cow. That is some strong denial.
Strong fact too. Guys like you that continually spout mindless slogans and mantras get in the way of those who are working to continue the trends of reducing gun violence. Spout emotion-laden crap like "kids getting kill in math class" and "every other developed country does <fill in the empty, ineffective action of your choice>".

Instead of all that blather we need to work on keeping guns away from the unstable while respecting the rights of the huge, huge majority of legal gun owners. We need o explore things like the Stop Order legislation working through the legislature in Arizona

Why do we need to do that? According to you gun deaths are rare. You want it both ways

I agree. We need gun control

We have gun control. All sorts of laws. The truth is, not a single “mass shooting” would have been stopped by more laws. I say that we start extreme vetting of weirdo’s.

Except they don't happen in developed countries as much that have effective gun control

Don't blame the tool - blame the user! Guns (or any other "tool") don't kill - people do! Take away all the guns (impossible), knifes will be used; take away all the knifes, bats will be used, etc., etc., etc.

If you want to stop all these senseless "mass" killings at schools or any other "soft" target, society needs to move away from the "identity" politics, blaming the other "side" and return to teaching our kids (and adults) that there are consequences for ones' actions. A gun (or any other weapon) cannot stop itself from doing harm - only the person holding the "tool" can decide how to use it.
