Gen. Patraeus was let off the hook too although his case was profoundly more serious....


Trump’s national security adviser shared secrets without permission, files show

A secret U.S. military investigation in 2010 determined that Michael T. Flynn, the retired Army general tapped to serve as national security adviser in the Trump White House, “inappropriately shared” classified information with foreign military officers in Afghanistan, newly released documents show.

Although Flynn lacked authorization to share the classified material, he was not disciplined or reprimanded after the investigation concluded that he did not act “knowingly” and that “there was no actual or potential damage to national security as a result,” according to Army records obtained by The Washington Post under the Freedom of Information Act.

Fortunately these guys are a tiny minority of generals and admirals.

If Flynn gets locked up he'll lose his stars and pension. Retired general officers and admirals continue to live under the UCMJ. A lot of other retired military receiving pensions are subject to UCMJ also. Flynn broke laws enforced by Treasury and DoJ and he violated security demands that add up to years behind bars. Flynn was technically innocent until he pleaded guilty and guilty he is. All of this came after Flynn was removed to retirement from director of Defense Intelligence Agency for being a wildcat.

The boy carrying on and shooting off his mouth is like father like son.
