What is this guy, five?

I hereby demand, and will do so officially tomorrow, that the Department of Justice look into whether or not the FBI/DOJ infiltrated or surveilled the Trump Campaign for Political Purposes - and if any such demands or requests were made by people within the Obama Administration!

Oh, I get it, Trumpy watched the royal wedding and imagined himself to be King.

I bet the idiots who support him think this is all good. Amirite?

He's well within his Presidential powers to do this.

Do you have a problem?

At least it buys Rosenstein and Mueller time to finish their investigation honestly.

Adrianna: Some pigs grunt. Some pigs tweet.

And the picture of the two shows a remarkable resemblance.

My only problem is how Adrianna has unfairly maligned pigdom.

Actually, I'm not so sure he does. He has the power to appoint. But I do not believe he can direct investigations.

And the IG is already looking into this.

So my suspicion? Trump is trying to make political hey, here.

Correct.

He's supposed to keep his hands off both agencies.

It's just the 500th attempt to obstruct justice.

Oh, Melania, we could have had a 'royal' wedding ............ we could have been married in Moscow, Putin could have walked you down the isle & given you away, and I could have used a condom when I ****ed Stormy ............ it could have been soooooooooo different but then of course, we would have NEVER been so famous & infamous, like Republicans ...........

He can release documents, though.

The president can certainly make demands. If the DOJ can raid civilians homes with warrants certainly the POTUS has a right to make demands.

He can release documents, though.

But only in a legal, lawful fashion, I hope. Not to mention evenhanded manner, 'cause, you know, that is what his base would want him to do.

I don't think you have a terribly solid grasp on how the law works.

He is acting like a guy who is the victim of a Witch Hunt who knows full well that he is being victimized by a Witch Hunt.

He gets a pass.

In many ways, the president is above the law. That's the way the Constitution is written. The president can declare war without permission from Congress. The president can pardon people who were guilty of crimes. The president can veto bills. The president has many built in powers/perks that again, are granted from the U.S constitution.

The President is sworn to uphold the law. The DOJ is his agency who does the work of upholding the law. He certainly does have the power to direct them to uphold the law.

And yes, the IG is already investigating...and Huber is already dealing with possible indictments and prosecutions. But Horowitz has not, until today, been instructed to investigate anyone spying on the Trump campaign. He has now been instructed.

Certainly, much of the information Horowitz has already discovered will apply to these new instructions.

I see this as a tightening of the noose around certain Obama administration people who thought they were in the clear...like Brennan, Clapper, Lynch, Yates, etc.

I seriously doubt this little gambit works out the way Trump hoped. He gets about 48 hours of riled up base out of it. But at the end of it Trump and Rudy end up looking even more underhanded, unscrupulous and amoral than before.

Too much of this is right out in the light of day. Keeping Americans confused was a better plan I think. Making things too easy would seem a loser for the Trump gang. Americans can still do simple math and this is getting down to pretty simple math.
The usual fireworks from Rudy. The usual tweet storm from DonDon.

Result: "I demand something that is already in the works".

Yea OK Donald. Have another Big Mac. In fact, have two or even three. Don't forget those fries.

As President, I believe Trump can declassify and make public pretty much anything he so desires. I believe it it a specific feature of the Presidency. And for good reason, as he may need to disclose information in the performance of his duties, for example when dealing with other heads of state.

Or of the constitution.

Lots of ambiguous big-picture words and phrases here above, but nothing showing Trump can direct an investigation. I believe he can not, though unfortunately I don't have a cite. I know he can appoint, but cannot fire. And he can declassify documents.

Yeah, I'm surprised Rosenstein reacted so quickly to a Tweet. He's either kissing-up out of fear, or he's appeasing Trump. I suspect the latter.

I see this as a tightening of the noose around certain Obama administration people who thought they were in the clear...like Brennan, Clapper, Lynch, Yates, etc.
I don't know enough here, but will try to keep an open mind. I'm not sure what could be the problem with Yates, because it seems to me she had legit constitutional concerns with Trump's order, and those were borne-out by the federal judges that blocked the order until it was modified.

Good..... I want Trump to keep yammering about spying because it does not appear that spying is what the informant was doing. that is if he is the he that is rumored.

By the time this is done, framing this as "spying" is going to look like the rantings of a five year old who does not quite have a grasp of anything. That is about par for Donald's course.

In some ways you are very right. That's why we depend on Congress to rein-in an errant President. In essence, The People rein him in through their congressional representatives.

But who is doing the math? It's not the GOP rank & file voters, and right now they're the only ones that matter!

To Trump.

But thats OK because before he is done, that is all he is going to be left with.

For those of us that are not part of that Trump base and not entirely opposed to him, that bunch sooner or later is going to figure out that we have had good Presidents and bad Presidents, but they won't be able to remember a time in our history when we have had this constant cacophony of noise, endless, mindless noise that is a direct result of Trump's MO, which is to create chaos. That bunch voted for change, not chaos. Its the true Trump believers that voted for chaos though even they appear not to have a plan for what to do with chaos.

The president is not supposed to be above the law - Nixon found that out.

He has a duty to faithfully execute his authority, as well work see to it that the law is applied to even those in his WH. A president is not entitled to use his authority to mislead authorized investigators, to use his office for the purposes of self interest, use his office for the unfaithful abuses of power, or bribe witnesses with clemency to save his own ass.

The problem is that this Congress acts the same way the WH does - they are one in the same. They purposely mislead the American public, they use their power for self interests, they leak and reveal top secret information to intimate witnesses and confuse the public, and they use their investigative powers for politically purposes.

You can't fix a corrupt executive branch when you have a corrupt Congress.

The problem is they're the only voters that are passionate and committed to their party.

We're divided and they're taking full advantage of it.

Presidents do not "demand." They can suggest and appoint. What country do you post from?
