Maxine Waters explodes on House floor: I resent ‘making America great again’!

Just don't ever get in the middle of two Baptists who are having a disagreement about Je-heyzus!

The Jonesboro Church Wars

Jonesboro Church Wars - Encyclopedia of Arkansas

Baptist was my last stop on the church trail; I now believe God hates churches. If EVER there was an institution that was steeped in petty conflict and hypocrisy we have yet to see it upon this earth.

My last stop was Canadian Baptist a kind of neutral in the Baptist feud; I thought they were where I believe a church should be, and progressive a lesbian pastor and two transgenered people.

But like every other church they have gathered their chairs facing in, and exist of and for themselves and at times jump on a 'do gooder' band wagon. But when you face inward only you will have to fear what is behind you. Instead of providing community they feed off it, taxless and often vacant 6 days a week.

As I told a friend, I can go to some pretty high end places to be judged by others, why do I need church? At one I was told by a complete stranger "you shouldn't wear sandals to church" to which I replied "Did anyone tell Jesus?"

I know less about God than I do about living, but I know enough to know what really, really pisses Him off is pride, judgement of others is pride personified. His will is for forgiveness and those who don't forgive, don't get forgiven. After 20 years of searching for the answer to ONE question "why me?" vis a vis getting sober I figure there is more about God in everyday culture than in church. Even the Beatles..."and in the end.....the love you get is equal to the love you give".

I've heard pastors spend a good part of 40 minutes trying to say the same thing

This uppity type woman needs to resign. She’s one of those type people who think they can partake of greatness by destroying it. What is it about California that corrupts the elected officials there? Is there some kind of brain-eating bacteria that only infects their democrat congresspeople? I just saw this quote by Barbara Fienstein:

[When the gunman realizes that nobody else is armed, he will lay down his weapons and turn himself in...that's just human nature.]

I mean good grief!

If I was running the Republican congressional efforts I’d play that as an ad 24/7 until November. It's a sure winner for getting elected.

Now that I was made aware the avatar was David Duke, I suspect an extreme Progressive in Conservative clothing looking to make a few FALSE FLAG threads.
The rest of their description adds more credence to my suspensions.
"Deep South Bible Belt" ??? Who but a disguised progressive would say that?
Their join date of only three weeks ago does not help.

I’ve decided, after reading your threads, comments, and your profile that you’re not a conservative but liberal playing the conservative parody game.

I am glad you can see this too.
Pretty obvious when you get past the bait bucket they laid out for us to comment on.

Who is worse?Pelosi and Waters or the confederacy of fools who voted for them?

neither party should be proud of such "statesmanship"

During debate, Trump-loving Pennsylvania congressman Mike Kelly (you guessed it, a Republican) tried to scold Waters, saying, "We're trying to make America great every day and every way and the best way to do that is to stop talking about discrimination and start talking about the nation. We're coming together as a people in spite of what you say."

Waters quickly responded: "I want you to know that I am more offended as an African-American woman than you will ever be. And this business about making America great again, it is your president that's dividing this country and don't talk to me about the fact that we don't understand... No, I will not yield, no I will not yield. Don't tell me we don't understand, that's the attitude given toward women time and time again."

Waters was then told to stop talking by Republican chair Tom McClintock. Waters complained that she was interrupted while Kelly was not. She then addressed Kelly again.

"Don't you dare talk to me like that and think that somehow women don't understand what goes on on the floors of automobile dealers."

McClintock angrily hushed Waters again.

"You did not interrupt [Kelly] when he was making those outrageous remarks about him knowing more about discrimination than I know about discrimination. I resent that, and I resent the talk about making America great again. He’s down here making a speech [about] this dishonorable president of the United States of America… and no I don’t yield (to Kelly), not one second to you. Not one second. Not one second to you."

May be we should talk about both Kelly and Waters. Takes 2 to tango.

I want to be fair about this so I'll bring up another somewhat unrelated issue, wage theft.
Same state agency...Arkansas uses a "State Revenue Office" to handle stuff like this.
Yes, you heard correctly, THE REVENOOERS! View attachment 67232955

I called the Revenooers about being cheated on a paycheck at the pallet factory.
They did the exact same thing to me, I swear to God.
I was new to Arkansas so I did not know all the area codes.
A few minutes into the call the lady on the other end says, "Mister Hoss, whah are yew calling an office in Cape Girardeau Mizzeruh bout a problem yew are havin with a paycheck from an Arkansas company, it ain't are problem!"

CLICK - BUZZ

So apparently whoever it is that works in the Revenue Office thinks this is pretty funny, and they do it whenever they don't want to deal with something.

So are you trolling these numbers or what? Seems you don't work in a pellet factory and based on you making fun of their accents, probably never lived in the area.

To Maxine Waters' credit however, it should be noted that she's pissed about the fact that Trump's administration and the Republican led Congress has managed to reverse automobile lending anti-discrimination rules against a common practice known as "redlining".

I'd sure love to know how racial discrimination in automobile lending "makes America great again".

You are assuming there was racism in lending to begin with.

I guess you can add this quote from Waters to the other long, long list of embarrassing quotes from Waters.

Embarrassing to the nation? Yeah, probably, but then, there are a great many in congress who would qualify as such.

I moved there in 1998 to be with Karen, and we lived there together for two and a half years before moving to Dallas, TX.
It was a PALLET factory, you know, wooden pallets?

Car dealers see only one color. That is green.

If they think the person will pay back the loan, they will lend.

When a buddy and I took over an established car lot back in the '90s, the lot had 23 past due accounts. Some of them had never made one payment.

All of them were black customers. I was able to find one car out of the 23 and that was in a different state. The rest were never found.

That, of course, made us reluctant to loan to more black people from that lot.

That is not racial discrimination. That is good business practices.

So, you're saying that the former owner, who you took over from, had 23 past due accounts.
Know what that tells me?

Since it's clear that the 23 past due accounts, some of which never made a single payment, were enough to make them get out of the business, I am guessing it bankrupted them, or nearly so, yes?

The finance dept, what kind of credit tools did they use? Did he do his OWN financing?
With only 23 no pays being enough to send him packing, my guess is, he did his own, he carried his own paper.
I say that because as bad as it sounds 23 no pays/slow pay is a lot of no pays/slow pays, but a typical car lot NEVER gets that many, not all at one time. Know why? I bet you DO know why:

1. You never carry your own paper unless you're Cal ****ing Worthington, i.e., a multi-multi millionaire worth about 400 million bucks.

2. You use a BANK, a credit agency, a credit bureau. They have all the tools you need to figure out the prospective buyer's work history, residency, banking records, payment histories, credit ratings, etc.

Not to badmouth your friend but my gut tells me they were such cheapskates that they didn't want to use that, or else they were unable to.
If they were unable to, wonder what the reason for that was.

I gotta laugh, because you expect people to believe that there are no black people capable of taking out financing on a car and paying off the loans. That's beyond ludicrous, it strains the very definition of absurdity.

Did YOU and your buddy stay in the business? Did you carry YOUR own paper?
With the exception of guys as big as Cal Worthington, dealers who carry their own paper ARE AMATEURS.
Sorry, that's just the God's honest truth.

Based on what I can surmise about those guys you took over for, they were amateurs and didn't want to bother doing a proper credit check.
And I'll guess further that BECAUSE they didn't, they looked like chumps. Of course I do not know the whole story, I can only go on what you told me, which is almost nothing. But I've been around the car business, because I'm a motorhead, and because I just happen to have a lot of friends in the car business. And a couple of my buddies are bigots, but they will DEFINITELY lend to black people, after a proper credit check, because as you said, they like GREEN.

Here's the kicker though, the issue is mostly about dealers charging black people interest rates which were absurdly high.
It's not that dealers were refusing to finance black people, it's that, all other factors being the same...earnings ratio, debt to income, credit rating, amount being financed, etc ... they were charging black buyers much higher rates.

If you skip out on a loan, and the loan went through a bank or finance co, your credit goes to Hell.
A car dealer who does a proper check will see those red flags.
An amateur who wants to skip all that WILL NOT, and they get burned.
And then of course, they like to blame black people, LOL.

No need to "think the person will pay back the loan"...if you're professional, you can KNOW that they will.

No, it's racist.
