I am appalled by Kelly Sadler’s comment about John McCain and the White House’s lack of an apology/ empathic response. I wish them godspeed when Master Death comes-a-callin’–Karma tends to come full circle. What a poor role model she is for three young sons this Mother’s Day.

That (bolded) is the best indication of why moral relativism has vampire sucked the soul of this country from itself. See, in the real world, good people stand up for good things; and they oppose bad things. It's not a stretch for most people to identify why mocking a dying man for his dying is gutter speak. Furthermore, everyone should be offended, not just McCain's family. If we don't stand for something we'll fall for anything.

I have admitted it, more than once. What Sadler said was wrong. Bad joke or just plain old mean comment. It was wrong. Now, she's in the cross hairs of lunatics and will be looking over her shoulder and her kids' shoulders for God knows how long, because the Left is that insane and because someone who should have been trustworthy inside the WH betrayed her to hurt her boss.

There is a time and a place for my forceful speech. Someone as perceptive as you are can certainly distinguish where and when I use it, it not why, apparently.

Anyway, there's that moral relativism again. I do not have to be personally murdered in order to think that murder is bad. This is exactly the foundational failing of libertarianism and why it can't gain a foothold in the US. Most libertarians don't care about individuals in the general sense. They care about themselves only. It's a disqualifying flaw in political theory.

What Sadler did was neither right nor kind nor necessary. I have reason to be offended by it because I'm a human being. Try it sometime.

I mean, that's sort of fair. No one should be threatening Sadler. But let's think back to kindergarten and lessons of personal responsibility. The leaker is not the source of the problem. Sadler's own sick mouth and stupid comment is the source of this problem. Under no circumstance should she fear for her or her family's safety, but maybe she'll keep her offensive mouth shut next time she feels like mocking a dying senator in an official meeting in her official capacity at the WH.

Further, let's not pretend that Sadler's intent was harm. What she said was said in a PRIVATE meeting, never to be heard beyond the 4 walls of the room she was in. John McCain's family should have never heard those ugly words. Never.
But some traitor maliciously leaked what Sadler said, knowing that the McCains would be hurt. Knowing that Sadler would be the target of threats and hatred, that her family could be affected. Children. Little children.
But, apparently, the collateral damage was worth the attempt to damage Trump.

You, like some other posters in this thread, seem to think that Sadler deserves some sort of pass for mocking a dying senator and veteran because she was in "private".

First of all, she's a taxpayer-paid federal employee who was speaking in her official capacity in an official meeting at the WH as a representative of the president of the US and the American people. Business meetings are not private even if they're not streamed on live TV. I and probably most people in this forum have participated in thousands of "private" business meetings and conference calls. Your professional statements are always fair game. That's why I would never make such a sick joke in mixed company and why if I did, I would have to face consequences like grown ups do.

If Sadler had never said the words she didn't want anyone to hear in the first place. Honestly, this is such a pathetic attempt at blame shifting. No one makes up "quips" that way on the clock. If you have, then you have worked in settings as unprofessional as the WH. If that is the case, I offer my regrets. Most businesses require their employees to comport themselves with dignity, respect, ethics, and professionalism. It's a rather classless comment by a staffer that was leaked out of a private meeting. I wonder how many things have been said thousands of times in private WH meetings over the years that were never leaked that would have offended someone. I'm not sure what we would have done had we heard them all. Probably the government would have had to shut down.
