McCain Irrelevant, 'He's Dying Anyway,' White House Official Reportedly Says

One could agree that the current administration lacks class and still acknowledge that Dems and liberals are only pretending to be offended by this comment. It's simply another way to attack Trump so, of course, they jump right on it as if they care about McCain in some way.

How are you not offended? I'm honestly surprised, but I don't know why I bother anymore.

Ah, so the bad guy in this story, to you, is not the person who said what she said but the person who repeated what she said. Morally bankrupt is the phrase that comes to mind right now.

Evidence that your brain is working is a good thing, I guess. But yes, I stand by my opinion that the worse of the two is the traitor who served Sadler up to the angry mob on a silver platter. Here's what Sadler has to deal with this Mother's Day:

I am appalled by Kelly Sadler’s comment about John McCain and the White House’s lack of an apology/ empathic response. I wish them godspeed when Master Death comes-a-callin’–Karma tends to come full circle. What a poor role model she is for three young sons this Mother’s Day.

Kelly Sadler needs to vacate her position/office ASAP. This less than human being, does not represent the America people. Disgusting behavior for anyone especially a mother!! If her mother is around I hope she teach her civility even at this late date.

No one outside of McCain and his immediate family should be 'offended' by the comment. Of all the nasty things said by both sides in the last couple years, this comment doesnt make the top 500.

That (bolded) is the best indication of why moral relativism has vampire sucked the soul of this country from itself. See, in the real world, good people stand up for good things; and they oppose bad things. It's not a stretch for most people to identify why mocking a dying man for his dying is gutter speak. Furthermore, everyone should be offended, not just McCain's family. If we don't stand for something we'll fall for anything.

I would be upset about the leak as well. A stupid comment made in a private conversation can be addressed, and was. The person who took this straight to the press in order to embarrass the woman and the president needs to be addressed as well--with termination papers.

Post # 48 fits here as well.

Since that comment was not directed at you, you have no reason to be 'offended' by it. But seriously, judging by your rants today, you are the last person to be lecturing anyone about 'gutter speak.'

What is the point you're trying to make? Those are abominable quotes. In fact, Twitter is the lowest common denominator among realtively unintelligent people who think the world cares what they ate for breakfast and how many handbags they own.

Despicable. What people are saying to and about Sadler is despicable. What Sadler said about McCain is also despicable. Just admit it.

I have admitted it, more than once. What Sadler said was wrong. Bad joke or just plain old mean comment. It was wrong. Now, she's in the cross hairs of lunatics and will be looking over her shoulder and her kids' shoulders for God knows how long, because the Left is that insane and because someone who should have been trustworthy inside the WH betrayed her to hurt her boss.
That's is disgusting.

There is a time and a place for my forceful speech. Someone as perceptive as you are can certainly distinguish where and when I use it, it not why, apparently.

Anyway, there's that moral relativism again. I do not have to be personally murdered in order to think that murder is bad. This is exactly the foundational failing of libertarianism and why it can't gain a foothold in the US. Most libertarians don't care about individuals in the general sense. They care about themselves only. It's a disqualifying flaw in political theory.

What Sadler did was neither right nor kind nor necessary. I have reason to be offended by it because I'm a human being. Try it sometime.

I mean, that's sort of fair. No one should be threatening Sadler. But let's think back to kindergarten and lessons of personal responsibility. The leaker is not the source of the problem. Sadler's own sick mouth and stupid comment is the source of this problem. Under no circumstance should she fear for her or her family's safety, but maybe she'll keep her offensive mouth shut next time she feels like mocking a dying senator in an official meeting in her official capacity at the WH.

Some people simply find reality to scary a place and have to pretend things to keep from facing it.

Sad, really.

Sad and oh so true, Tanngrisnir. Anybody you know engage in this type of behavior?

Politically blunt, but true. I suppose he should have sugar coated it. But hey, more pogy bait for the TDS crew.

One can dream... Mine is him casting a deciding vote against the torture advocate, with an "I'm still alive, assholes!" accompanying comment. Followed by the mother of all rim shots.

Well, you've just justified that now, Sadler is the focus of such ire, hatred, vitriol and fomenting of harm to come to her AND her family.
Yes, it's much, much worse.

Further, let's not pretend that Sadler's intent was harm. What she said was said in a PRIVATE meeting, never to be heard beyond the 4 walls of the room she was in. John McCain's family should have never heard those ugly words. Never.
But some traitor maliciously leaked what Sadler said, knowing that the McCains would be hurt. Knowing that Sadler would be the target of threats and hatred, that her family could be affected. Children. Little children.
But, apparently, the collateral damage was worth the attempt to damage Trump.

That's some really sick s***.

I didn't justify anything. I picked every word I typed to you very deliberately. I condemned threats of violence against Sadler. Multiple times. You, like some other posters in this thread, seem to think that Sadler deserves some sort of pass for mocking a dying senator and veteran because she was in "private".

First of all, she's a taxpayer-paid federal employee who was speaking in her official capacity in an official meeting at the WH as a representative of the president of the US and the American people. Business meetings are not private even if they're not streamed on live TV. I and probably most people in this forum have participated in thousands of "private" business meetings and conference calls. Your professional statements are always fair game. That's why I would never make such a sick joke in mixed company and why if I did, I would have to face consequences like grown ups do.

You said, "John McCain's family should have never heard those ugly words. Never." You know how that could have been accomplished? If Sadler had never said the words she didn't want anyone to hear in the first place. Honestly, this is such a pathetic attempt at blame shifting. Am I going to be mad at my son for dropping a cherry bomb in the school toilet or the student in the next stall who told on him? Responsibility and accountability are more than words. If we have no moral standard for the people who run the national government, then our children and our society are ****ed. It's that simple to me.

Also, please watch how you use the word "traitor". You're out here applying that to a person who repeated a comment that another person made about a decorated POW and a US senator. Only the second person's not a traitor. Um, ok.

Now who's making assumptions? I never said she deserved a pass. I don't think Sadler should be fired, unless this is repeat behavior, and we've no idea if that's the case. The Left wants her head on a stick and it's this "all or nothing" response that's way out of hand.
Spare me the "official" b.s.
Everyone makes quips when on the clock.
That's just scrimping for some justification when your case is flimsy.

Whoever leaked wanted her fired and if that happens, the leaker will win. Sadler loses. Trump loses. The McCains lose. But this PoS wins.

Now way do I want this manipulation which hurt many people to be successful. I think Sarah Sanders can see right through it, too.

eta:

Don't presume to lecture me on word choice. I've had it up to "here" with the Left telling everyone what they mean when they say something.
Whoever "repeated" (such a nice way to minimize the back-stabbing betrayal, btw), which is to say, leaked what Sadler said, is a treacherous, seditious traitor.

Yet you call the leaker a "traitor" and offer no such forceful criticism of Sadler. You're transparent.

No one makes up "quips" that way on the clock. If you have, then you have worked in settings as unprofessional as the WH. If that is the case, I offer my regrets. Most businesses require their employees to comport themselves with dignity, respect, ethics, and professionalism. You're recycling that tired "locker room talk" failed argument because your case is indeed flimsy, not mine. I'm being consistent and measured. You're defending the president and poor potty-mouth Sadler for reasons that are, again, transparent.

"This manipulation" was repetition of words that a person actually said. Your disgust is so willfully misplaced, in my opinion, that I think you really don't get why Sadler's words were repugnant.

I already did lecture you. Deal with it.

And now you double down on your manufactured outrage about a person truthfully repeating what another person said. A "treacherous, seditious traitor" in fact. But you'll carry water for the treacherous, seditious traitor who said it in the first place. Hypocritical, pathetic, transparent rubbish.

I've seen the dictionary insult before now. It's weak.

The drink sounds lovely though. Maybe I'll do that.

If you ever decide to be a consistent person who holds all people to equal ethical standards, regardless of political party or persuasion, I'll be your ally.

How are you not offended? I'm honestly surprised, but I don't know why I bother anymore.

It's a rather classless comment by a staffer that was leaked out of a private meeting. I wonder how many things have been said thousands of times in private WH meetings over the years that were never leaked that would have offended someone. I'm not sure what we would have done had we heard them all. Probably the government would have had to shut down.
