RANT: Kanye, Michelle Wolf, Cultural Appropriation

3 news stories annoyed me today in particular:

We all get triggered at times I suppose, and using an international political debate forum as an outlet is surely more satisfying than Facebook or a blog. Even a better quality thread than all the two- or three-line click bait and partisan flag-waving threads out there  Greetings from Australia :)

So you're saying you've never heard of the Kardashians?
Or rap?
A rap star married one of the Kardashian girls. The Kardashians are reality tee vee stars who are "famous for being famous" and I don't fault you for not having any awareness of them.
I have kids and my wife loves trash tee vee otherwise I wouldn't really know much about them either, except that their biological daddy was on OJ Simpson's defense team.
He WAS famous for a reason.
Now he's dead.

<ranting stuff, sex, Kanye, some article of clothing I never heard of, dinner and drinks, Sarah Huckabee Sanders>

That's all I've got. Have a swell evening. :)

Let me guess. Your girlfriend told you she had a headache?

Wow... finally another person on the internet that finds both side of the aisle as equally annoying as I do!

1. I have a minor difference of opinion on Kanye. I have some respect for him over being willing to go against the grain and be a black Trump supporter in Hollywood. Just like I have some respect for Glenn Beck for being a white conservitive talk radio host that is openly critical of Trump. It takes balls to publicly voice an unpopular opinion (especially when your career hangs on the balance). Wether or not Kanye believes everything he is saying or as you said it's all one big political stunt I can't say, nor do I really care. I wasn't a fan of Kenya and his music before all this crap, and I am not a fan of his now just because he supposedly likes Trump.

2. The dress thing I haven't heard about. Sounds like social justice warriors being over sensitive cry babies as usual. **** like this is as annoying as hearing conservitives cry about transsexuals. Who gives a ****? Shut the hell up and let people be people.

3. People suffer from political derangement syndromes. Back when Obama was president conservitives had Obama Derangement Syndrome. Every little thing that Obama said and did was the end of the world. You couldn't turn on fox news or talk radio without hearing how evil Obama was, and how he was going to destroy our country. Was Obama an exceptionally good president? IMHO not really. He said a lot of crap I don't agree with and Obamacare screwed me over on my taxes and insurance, but for the most part my daily life was not impacted by Obama's presidency. Same goes for Trump only this time it's democrats that are suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome. Every little thing Trump does and says causes democrats to lose their ****. Is he an exceptionally good president? Not really. Outside of the media has Trump and his policies effected your daily life? I doubt it. We will survive Trump just like we survived Obama

Now, last but not least, this whole controversy with Michelle Wolf. Look, I didn’t think she was funny at all. I barely chuckled watching her entire segment, for the majority of it I was cringing. And her delivery just didn’t help at all. With that being said, I don’t have a problem with most the jabs that she made. She did the job she was hired to do, even if I don't think she did it particularly very well. Don't like it? Then don't hire comedians to come and roast you. The Sarah comments were actually pretty meh in my opinion. The one and only comment that I loved specifically, was the one Michelle threw at the media, pointing out that the press seems to hate Donald Trump so much, yet they cover him non-stop. And you know what? She’s 100% correct about that. As she said, “You helped create this monster, and are profiting off of it.” Best line in her entire monologue. The media spends all of their time covering every little thing that has to do with Trump, because they know it helps their ratings. That’s why the majority of the media’s talking heads that I’ve seen address this, are only choosing to focus on her petty jabs at Sarah Huckabee. The media has no moral high ground to stand on denouncing Michelle, when they fuel the fires of divisiveness way more than Michelle ever could. So the media talking heads can go shove it. Now, in response to a lot of the right-wingers that were apparently offended by her jokes, and want her to apologize for what she said about Sarah, just goes to show that “snowflakes”, aren’t just on the Left. Always fun to see that hypocrisy play out. So many on the right always complain that many on the Left get overly-offended at jokes (which is true in a lot of cases), but they get just as offended as the liberals that they criticize when they become the butt of the jokes.

That's all I've got. Have a swell evening. :)

I wasn't offended. It takes a lot more than some mouthy bitch at an elitest shin-dig to offend me. The only thing I ever did was point out how stupid she is and how hypocritical the Leftists are for defending her.

She probably created a few more Trump voters, so I'm cool with sitting back and watching the Leftists continue to shoot themselves in the foot.

Kanye says slavery was a choice by African Americans? Interesting stuff.

Did you hear West say slavery was a choice? He's dumber than his dumb wife.

3 news stories annoyed me today in particular: this controversy with Kanye West and his new song Ye vs. The People, this controversy on Twitter with cultural appropriation, and the controversy from the White House Correspondents Dinner.

First, Kanye West pissed a lot of people off with his newfound support for Donald Trump and MAGA. He’s been very active on Twitter recently, tweeting his support for Donald, and for charlatans like Candace Owens (anyone who knows about her past with Social Autopsy knows what I mean). Now a bunch of conservatives are in love with Kanye, which I find to be quite hilarious. And a bunch of people on the Left are annoyed at Kanye for his support of Trump. Now, to the people that are for some reason mad at Kanye, you dumbasses must have amnesia, because Kanye has always done and said controversial ****. This new stunt of his is nothing new. What, now that he’s professed his support for a guy on the opposite of the aisle, suddenly Kanye’s “gone too far”? Shut the **** up. It’s not hard to see that Kanye’s new “MAGA phase” is just a publicity stunt to gain attention, seeing as his album Lift Yourself, is coming out in a few months. And to all the conservatives that think Kanye “gets it” now, because he thinks that the black people that choose vote Democrat are like being stuck on a plantation, shut the **** up. Kanye West is a moron who knows jack **** about politics. his ****ty lyrics in his new song Ye vs. the People is proof enough of that (which is just a terrible song, IMHO). His political knowledge is about as deep as the shallow side of a pool. And the fact that he thinks he’s some anointed spokesperson for the black community, is just even more laughable. And what happened to the conservatives wanting celebrities to shut up about politics? I guess that only applies to the ones that criticize Trump, rather than worship him.

Secondly, a girl pissed a lot of people off on Twitter by wearing a red and gold qipao for a prom dress. Lots of people called this out as racist, and another example of white people exploiting other cultures. OMG, shut up you bunch of annoying "progressive" nitwits. Accusations of “cultural appropriation” at this point are thrown around just as flippantly as “Nazi” and “racist”, towards people where the term shouldn’t be thrown at whatsoever. This is the part of the Left that I just despise. These people, who just flip their **** over inconsequential crap like this, need to grow some thicker skin. Who gives a **** if some white girl decides to wear some cultural dress for prom night? No level-headed person should have an issue with that. Nothing about that should be considered racist, or even offensive. It's not. Focusing on this garbage accomplishes nothing, especially when you could be spending your time addressing acts of ACTUAL racism. You aren't progressives, you're just a bunch of virtue-signaling fools who try to find offense in every little thing. Grow the hell up.

You are correct that Wolf did the job she was hired to do. The problem for her, the people who hired her...and for the various useful idiots and talking potato heads in the media...is that it all backfired. Too bad. Suck it up. Move on. Hell, there'll always be opportunities to make disgusting mountains out of molehills.

Really? What did she say that was soooo bad?

Still have yet to see one whiny righty answer this question.

Plenty of liberal media folks have already given you the answer to your question.

Why should I repeat what they said?

Because you insinuate an accusation. If you can't back it up then I won't be surprised mostly because it's an ongoing pattern.

Good one, gov. You nailed it as far as I'm concerned, though I didn't watch Michelle's performance.

I like a lot of Kayne's stuff (he cannot sing, though). Really good rapper and an excellent producer, married to a plastic princess. BFD... This stunt of his didn't change my view of him at all. He's always been sort of an iconoclast.

Kayne West? The left can stuff their fake offense and the right can swallow their new found phony adulation.:twocents:

Kanye says slavery was a choice by African Americans? Interesting stuff.

He did say that. And he's a moron for implying that slavery was a choice. It wasn't. Saying slavery was a choice is equivalent to saying that the Holocaust was a choice.

You are insinuating Wolf was somehow highly offensive... yet you can't back that up.

Don't take my word for it.

I can't because you don't back up what you claim. Don't make a claim and then tell me to go find and read someone else's claim. That's some of the worst weak sauce.

shrug...

Do I care if you are whining and crying about me? Nope.

Do I care if you are whining and crying about me? Nope.

I asked you to back up your claim. Instead you took the path of saying you didnt make a claim and now you feel the need to waive your victim flag.

This has gone exactly as I expected it to. As it always does when you and I converse.
