Did Michael Flynn Jr. just reveal something very, very important about the Russia investigation?

Analysis by Chris Cillizza, CNN Editor-at-largeSo just to be clear, what Flynn Jr. is alleging is that his dad never lied to Vice President Mike Pence (or anyone else!) about his interactions with then-Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak.

That runs directly counter to Pence's version of events. Pence said Flynn did not tell the truth when the two talked about interactions with Kisylak. "I was disappointed to learn that ... the facts that had been conveyed to me by Gen. Flynn were inaccurate," Pence said a week after Flynn's firing.

That tweet also contradicts the explanation offered by Trump for firing Flynn in the first place.

(CNN)On Monday morning, Michael Flynn Jr., the son of President Donald Trump's former national security adviser, tweeted something very, well ... interesting.

"American Patriot @GenFlynn did not lie to Pence (or anyone else in the admin) about his perfectly legal and appropriate conversations w Russian AMB Kislyak in Dec 2016," Flynn Jr. tweeted. "Why would a highly decorated military intel officer lie about something legal? Been a MSM lie from day 1."=========================================================================================

Which, if he is telling the truth, would mean:

Pence, who has said he had no knowledge of the conversations Flynn was having with Kisylak and other Russian officials, actually did know.
Trump's reason for firing Flynn doesn't hold water since the former national security adviser didn't lie to Pence.
Flynn chose to lie to the FBI about his dealings with the Russians during the transition but told the truth to the incoming vice president about those same interactions.




But as the article also notes, the guy is stupid enough to have bought into Pizzagate, sooooo......

Not that this is immediately apropos of the thread, but I just learned that Michael Flynn Jr.'s lawyer is Alan Futerfas. Alan Futerfas represented clients such as the Gambino, Genovese and Colombo crime families. Mueller is the guy who broke the Gambino crime family.

You can't make this stuff up.
 
if anyone comes out of this unscathed, it's Pence. not only will he make the lifeboat if the Trump ship goes down, he will also deliver the solemn, furrowed browed eulogy and talk about how it's time to move on to him.

This story always stunk, especially as to how it evolved with Flynn & the administration lying through their teeth, and the media finally pulling it from them day-by-day, until the administration had no other recourse but to claim Flynn lied & dismiss him.

Consequently, I always felt Pence could have some legal exposure along with Priebus, and even if not highly active criminally, then at least through overhearing criminal conversations and remaining silent or tacitly cooperating.

This Tweet today just adds to reinforce the subterfuge & shady activities taking place in the administration around these and other events, that may be able to lead to criminal liability. Obviously someone is lying here, and if it occurs while in contact with the FBI it's felonious, and if it occurs while in contact with Congress it's perjurious & contemptuous.

This is almost as bad as that time Trump Tweeted that he fired Flynn for lying to the feds, then realizing he was admitting to possible obstruction, he had his lawyer claim he did the Tweet using Trump's account unbeknownst to him!

Ironically, that Tweet was also about the Flynn-Pence-Trump "lying" incident! :doh

The question everyone's wondering is why on Earth did Flynn lie to the FBI in the first place? He had to have known that the chances of Kislyak being wire-tapped were very high, so it just seems like he should have been more guarded, especially on a matter that wasn't that serious to begin with.

It also appears like the WH was concerned if Flynn was under FISA surveillance.

Something doesn't add up at all.

I never believed the story around Flynns firing. Im not sure what happened, but I never believed the 'he lied to Pence' narrative.

See, this is why I think Trump-Cohen-Manafort are walking indictments about to happen. At least in technical terms. It's from the way they play fast & loose. And they've been doing it for much of their adult lives.

It's not unlikely that Trump did indeed know about Flynn's lying, and tried to shelter him. Of course that would be felony obstruction of Trump, due to the false statements he issued in his official and other capacities. Whether he gets officially charged & indicted is of course a different matter.

But it's my suspicion that this crowd has played like this quite a bit throughout their lives, and they have a ton of illegal behaviour that has yet to be unearthed and hasn't been exposed to the public.
