LIB going after NFL Cheerleaders

FFS...do you see any of these women even slightly looking like they are being forced or coerced to try out for these cheerleading teams?

View attachment 67231942

Show me where I said anyone was being forced or coerced. I have no issues with anyone who works in their profession by choice and I don't think cheerleading objectifies women.

I am simply asking someone who claims to be a traditional family values kind of person who supports NFL cheerleaders if they would want their own family to engage in that. If they actually read the OP they might realize that if they truly hold those traditional values they would probably agree with it as women being objectified but instead since it was presented as a LIB position they have to trash it. I personally disagree with the OP.

If a woman voluntarily becomes a cheerleader, why wouldnt ANYONE support her choices? YOU are the one creating this weird 'moral standard' that for some weird reason think only applies to conservative people and then expect other people to dwell within it. Its like you declare proudly, not liberals...they would never give a **** about such things....

but you conservatives...

What do you mean "weird moral standard" I am applying? If someone tells me they are for traditional values, since many see modesty in a woman as a traditional value, to me then I wonder if they would themselves have a problem with a female in their family doing this since cheerleaders in the NFL tend to wear little more than a bra and little skirt. It's not about conservatives, that poster brought it up about liberals being anti this and anti that, so I had to question if he's just rejecting his own supposed morals because some liberal has the same ones?

If I had "traditional values" like modesty, I would raise my children to also be very modest and might not like it if my children if they choose to do things I don't fundamentally agree with. I didn't say they had to support it, I only asked if they would be okay with it. You can still support someone even if you don't fully agree with their choices, right?

HOLY ****, dude, are you really that dense? There is NO god. However, we are a species that is capable of being better than just animals, with no sense of intention or consequences, as PART of our nature. To treat the most base aspects of our nature as the totality of it is to ignore that some people really CAN transcend it and, worse, is just an excuse for being a dick forever.

Fine, you and the right wing don't care to care about women on any other level. You want fake ass bitches with big fake titties that satisfy some animal desire or some aspect of patriarchy for you. Fine. You should have just written "I'm too dumb to understand your point" and saved yourself some writer's cramp.

You are in denial. Sex sells. And it sells across all spectrums of ideologies. Have you ever looked at the covers of magazines when you buy groceries? You are a far bigger prude than anyone on the right.

ANd in your weird world, a-only 'conservatives' have traditional values, and b-traditional values means people should be dressed like Saudi women.

You position is ****ed up...but thats probably because you arent thinking...you are just promoting a bent.

So you arent the chick holding the sign trying to get the Hooters girl fired because of the Hooters, girl. You are just the chick that ultimately hopes the Hooters girl gets fired because of some weird standard you apply to half her customer base.

Either way...you are still the chick holding the sign.

There is nothing wrong with objectifying people who take on that roll voluntarily. Both the cheerleaders AND the players are objectified. They are performing for our entertainment.

where do i sign up

is there a entry fee....
Well...that depends...are you a CONSERVATIVE??? HMMMMMMMMM???? Do you have 'traditional values'???? Do you teach 'morality'? Well? Do you? DO YOU????

Does it not? I think on some level it does. It's like the Hooter's waitress, and other restaurants with the same gimmick. And on some level it is "objectifying", or at least I would think so. People should be free to choose these careers if they want, but I think they also come with a certain stigma.

Men are not a disadvantaged minority that spent the last thousands of years objectified. Pretending the two groups are the same is stupid.

Last I heard, those young women sign up for this highly competitive job, walk into those dressing rooms to put on those rather skimpy outfits, then voluntarily walk onto the field to put on a show. People pay good money to attend these entertainment venues. What's the problem?

Your reply in no way addresses my point.

My friend worked at Hooters and she begged me to come, talking about how it was such a family restaurant and she was making great money. I decided to give it a try and worked as a hostess, I wore a polo shirt and not one of those tanks, and within one day I knew it wasn't for me. I guess I can say on some level I did feel objectified but on the other my friend loved the attention and the work and didn't feel it objected her at all. Everyone has a different perspective I guess but it seems like we all mostly agree if someone makes that choice it is their choice but they may face some judgement over it by some people.

Yeah, those don't exist anymore. Went the way of the dodo, sadly. Now it's all State Building, Big Government, Big Debt, Big War, Big Brother, Big Corporation government.

The One Party has really brought us to the Brave New World.

lol

I was a hooters girl, so yeah.

Quite so. And I think Hooters thrives on the people who like the attention and are not worried about the objectification. And quite honestly, it's a safe work environment too. They know that despite how many will stare, there won't be anything other than a better tip and maybe some more money spent in the restaurant.

So if one likes it and wants to do it, by all means. There will certainly be the clientele to fill the seats. But in any of the careers that revolve around a certain amount of objectifying women for business purposes, there will come a stigma. You can be the smartest girl in the world, but if you're parading around as a cheerleader chances are no one is going to see it.

Although I do believe that the smartest girl in the world is likely not parading around as a cheerleader, lol.

WOW, you really got triggered because I simply asked someone who had values if think it's okay for their female family members to go against those values. :lamo

Well said.

Apparently some believe that if it isn't for them, it shouldn't be for anyone.

This is why I am thinking people who hold what they say are traditional values wouldn't really be okay with their female counterparts doing something like that. Maybe I'm way off, VM certainly thinks so, but if I claim to be a family values wife, I couldn't really look the other way if my husband decided to dance around a field in front of mostly men in a little bikini underwear. Even being non-traditional value kind of person, I would not be okay with that and can admit that.

as long as it is a choice we agree

some women have zero issue using their sex appeal to get whatever it is they desire

other women find that appalling and demeaning

as long as they are the ones making that choice, i am good with it

the old "sleeping your way to the top" still exists in some circles

or marrying into wealth...

i remember my grandfather telling my sister one time to use every advantage she could...including her feminine assets

she had a great head on her shoulders and didnt need to resort to those antics, but i wouldnt have looked at her differently if she had

I mean, to be honest about it; I wouldn't want my daughter to be a cheerleader or a Hooter's waitress. I suppose if that would be her honest decision, then so be it. But I'd rather her be a mathematician or a scientist. I don't know if she's quite evil enough to be a mathematician, but time will tell on that one. I would much rather her have a career that parades around her brains and cunning than breasts and butt. I think she is better than that.

My grand daughter has been a cheerleader since her junior high days and until this year a cheerleader at a well known university. It never bothered me. I have framed photos of her and my division one basketball scholarship son everywhere. Both are major accomplishments to be appreciated. She quit because of the time required of all college athletes.

Son is now the owner of a successful manufacturing business. Grand daughter is on her way to a medical degree. Brains did that. It's not a given that you can't have both in the same package.

I was speaking more as a career rather than jr. high extra curricular activity. I would hope that jr. high and high school kids weren't wearing what NFL cheerleaders or Hooters waitresses wear.

lol

More leftwing attacks on freedom. Different day, same authoritarians.

An authoritarian is one who wants to shut the press down. Now anyone like that ?

Calling out stupidity is what qualifies as triggered these days...NOT the stupidity.

Do YOU have any values or standards? Do YOU think its important to teach your children morals and values?

Cheerleaders...Hooters girls...strippers...whatever. That you think it would be morally reprehensible for a conservative to support cheerleaders in the name of morality and objectification is just...goofy. If I have a 'trigger' its the constant stupidity of people that think being a 'conservative' is akin to being the Taliban.
