Obama just sat back and did nothing.

Did the US have a plan to retaliate against Russia for its cyberwarfare and interference during the 2016 election cycle? Yes, former CIA director John Brennan told an audience at UC Berkeley this weekend, picked up by the Free Beacon’s Bill Gertz this morning. The intelligence community presented Barack Obama a plan to initiate counter-cyberwarfare attacks to push back against Moscow. However, Brennan said, Obama chose to issue a stern warning instead:

And because of it, Trump was elected

Obama can never be forgiven

No one is holding back Trump............maybe 'someone' is, hmmm.

Yeah, well... as Obama explained to the Russians, he had a lot more flexibility after the election.

So you're admitting that your boy Trump was only elected because of Russian interference? And instead of blaming the idiots who feel for Russian propaganda, or the Republicans who forwarded it we're blaming President Obama?

President Obama wanted to do more about the Russian interference but if he would have he would have been attacked by Republicans for appearing to try and influence the election himself. He went to Mitch McConnell to try and get a bipartisan resolution to prevent that from happening and McConnell said no.

Obama was stuck between a rock and a hard place, and he made the best choice that he could. He chose not to make the problem worse and potentially undercut the credibility of a Hillary Clinton Presidency. He like most Democrats trusted the American people to be smart enough to make the right choice, and by all accounts, the polls seemed to indicate they would.

While Russian propaganda was a problem the bigger problem that Obama had no control over was Comey re-opening the stupid email investigation 11 days before the election.

 Your source is literally called "hot air."

As far as your OP, while he didn't do enough, he didn't sit back and do nothing.

That NPR article is pretty good, and I would ask the person who posted it read it.

But that didn't stop then-Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., from alluding publicly to the Russian campaign in a letter to then-FBI Director James Comey. And Comey reportedly wanted to announce the active measures in an op-ed column, as Newsweek reported in March 2017. Two sources with knowledge about the matter told Newsweek that Obama administration officials blocked the effort.

Obama administration officials have said they worried about appearing to put their thumb on the scales for Clinton. Combined with Obama's belief that Clinton would win, their political calculus appears to have boiled down to: Let's ride this out.

Obama himself said in December 2016 that he wasn't convinced that he should have done anything different.

I would convince the person who quoted my NPR article to read my comments that I posted, along with the link to the article.

He's still pondering his... on one hand there is... on the other hand there might... maybe there is a chance of this... or maybe that...

Obama was only decisive when he turned his back to cops and turned a blind eye to them being murdered in their squad cars at lunch break.

Either way it was pretty good article. Maybe I didn't give you a fair shake because you are a liberal and I didn't expect to see a middle of the road article. Aside from the pro forma anti Trump/Russia screed at the bottom, it wasn't bad for an NPR writer.

Obama was in a pickle. Does he come out hard against Russian tampering? If so he plays into Trumps claims of a rigged election and cast doubt on a Hillary victory. Whomever got Trump to make the tampering claim was a political genius.

Y'all are STILL bashing Comey for that? :lamo

The only reason he reopened the case was because he thought Clinto had it sewed up. He admitted that. By doing so, he admitted that if he had had any doubts, he would'nt have opened the case. Basically, his decision was motivated by politics.

Right. Which is a legitimate reason to bash him.

The Washington Times bias rating is leans right. The Washington Times has the slogan “America's Newspaper” and targets center-right conservatives, even defining itself as a conservative news outlet.
