Separating Good Trump from Bad Trump

The far right did not elect Trump. Moderate Democrats in three blue states elected Trump. But, if you think you can win an election based on hate, then what makes you think you will ever win an election again? Trump can always fire up the hate again. Answer: Hate had nothing to do with Trump winning.

You keep repeating this over and over again, knowing that is wrong. Why?

Trump never promised universal health care paid by the government. That was your wishful interpretation of his words. You know that he never meant that and waited so that you could twist his words and later say that he didn't do what he promised. Trump was ready to sign on the dotted line regarding DACA but only with the stipulation that illegal immigration would stop. Democrats are only interested in doing DACA and letting illegal immigration continue. They aren't serious about stopping illegal immigration in any way, shape, or form.

You are, yet again, wrong on both counts. But you know that already and you continue to blatantly lie, ironically just like your political messiah Trump.

Picking Hillary was stupid. Even among the small sector of America who were willing to admit to being Democrats, 25% of those people said they didn't trust her. But Democrats went glibly on and turned a deaf ear to the revolution fomenting around them.

The party was falling apart around them and Democrats said, "Hey, let's keep on doing what we've been doing but, since we can't run Obama again, let's do it with an uncharismatic, distrusted person at the top of the ticket." Democrats were supposed to be the smart ones. I'm still shaking my head at Democrats letting their party strength and financial situation fall into shambles and doing next to nothing about it ... and then tapping Hillary as the one to lead their party to victory.

I'm shaking my head a Republicans for a whole lot of things. But shaking my head at the Democrats for being so stupid about Hillary and the mood of the nation.

The thing is, Hillary was supposed to be the Democrat nominee as far back as 2008. The DNC powers that be wanted her to be their parties nominee in 2008, which would of happened had Obama not come out of nowhere, and (barely) take the nomination away from her. This is why I believe she never really liked Obama. So, after Obama won and became president, she "waited her turn" for 8 years, all while thinking she would be able to replicate Obama's diverse base that gave him both of his election wins. Only problem is...she is no Barack Obama. Obama, who certainly had plenty of faults, was a unique candidate in a sense that he was really good in getting people to go out and vote for him, including getting people who never really voted to come out and vote. There's a reason why he received a record nearly 70 million votes in 2008. Some say because he was black, and while I believe that played a small part, I believe he was seen as a charismatic positive "change" candidate that was (at the time) viewed as the complete opposite of a DEEPLY unpopular George W. Bush.

And yes, the Dems blew what should have been an easy election win by nominating the only other candidate as deeply unpopular as Trump. But the GOP voters screwed up too. Truth is, after 8 years of a Democrat president, the 2016 election should have been the Republicans to win, as history has shown how hard it is for the same party to retain the presidency after two terms. By nominating Trump, they were essentially handing a third term to the Democrats, and what do the Democrats do? Again, nominate the only candidate as unpopular as he is. They never learned from 2008 when Hillary Clinton was first rejected. She was rejected once in 2008, and again in 2016, and thanks to the Democrat's incompetence, we are stuck with a damn Reality T.V. Game show host as our president. The only positive thing I see about it is the Democrats may finally be once and for all done with the Clinton's. Had Hillary won in 2016, the Republicans would have done everything possible to destroy her presidency, and we'd likely have gotten a GOP president in 2020. Now, hopefully we may get a decent Democrat president in 2020, but I'm not holding my breath.

Although there were many bad actors in the private banking community it was Govt Actions that caused the 2008 Housing Market Crash, not the free market. Every one of those Govt policies were from Leftist Democrats, not Bush.

By the time Obama took office the worst of the recession was over. He inherited a recovery not a recession, but his policies made it the slowest so called recovery in US History.

Trump inherited an economy in decline. GDP growth in 2016 was down 40% from 2015. When Trump took office Obama had GDP growth down to 1.2%. After Trump repealed Obama's economy killing Executive Orders it jumped up to 3.2% and under Trump the overall average has been about 3% so far.

Obama left office claiming 3% growth could never again be achieved, that America's best days were behind her.

That is the most laughable horse bleep I have read in a long time.

Can we just do that? I mean, come on. There has to be a way to preserve the Trump who wants to pull out of Syria and send the National Guard to the border from the one who can't keep his finger off his tweeter or is spiraling us into a trade war with China. There has to be.

There's Gorsuch Trump--good. And, then there is hiring Flynn and all those other losers Trump--Bad. Let's simply erase bad Trump and keep the good one.

Thoughts?

Just because the GOP has lowered their standards does not mean the rest of us need to go down the same road.

Obama was a constitutional lawyer at Harvard, no small feat.
Really? What cases did he work on?

He's also articulate, nuanced, and towers over trump insofar as class and intellect, as well as understanding the institutions of government, their importance, how they interact, things of which Trump has zero knowlege, nor interest.
Hey....you got a little Obama on your lip there. Need a tissue?

This probably already has been said in the 18 preceding pages I haven't read but the separation of the good Trump from the bad Trump would be separating the lying Trump from the truthful Trump, the selfish Trump from the charitable Trump, the unfeeling Trump from the empathetic Trump, the cheating Trump from the fair play Trump, and, unfortunately, none of those separations is feasible because none of the second part Trumps exist.
