It turns out Steve Bannon used Cambridge Analytica as a weapon of psychological warfare on a hapless American populace to implement his alt right vision and agenda. He used sophisticated techniques of psychological research and manipulation, techniques honed by extensive experience on foreign populations in the past to influence opinions on such diverse groups as ISIS and Boko Haram to Vladimir Putin in Ukraine. Except he weaponized these powerful techniques and military strategies of psychological warfare for use in on the American population, exploring and then exploiting America’s latent insecurities, fears, paranoias, ignorance and misunderstandings, prejudices and bigotries, resentments and grudges, to advance his vision.

Former contractor Christopher Wylie described Cambridge Analytica as "Bannon's arsenal of weaponry to wage a culture war on America using military strategies."

Bannon wanted to use the sorts of aggressive messaging tactics usually reserved for geopolitical conflicts to move the US electorate further to the right, Wylie said. He had already directed a series of anti-establishment, conservative documentary films and presided over the far-right website Breitbart News, but Cambridge Analytica would mark another step in his overall ambitions to transform the nation.

With financial backing from hedge-fund billionaire Robert Mercer, Bannon co-founded Cambridge Analytica in 2013 as the US-branch of Strategic Communication Laboratories (SCL) Group, a British company that advertises how it has conducted "behavioral change" programs in more than 60 countries.

Wylie described Cambridge Analytica as "Steve Bannon and Robert Mercer using a foreign, military contractor ... to use some of the same techniques that the military uses ... on the American electorate."...

Wylie also said the company used focus groups and messaging trials in 2014 to test some of the concepts that became core themes of the Trump campaign, such as "drain the swamp" and imagery of walls.
"A lot of the narratives of the Trump campaign were what we were testing in 2014," Wylie said.
He added that Bannon directly presided over much of the company's initial research.
"Everything that we were doing ultimately had to be passed up to Bannon for approval," said Wylie, who left the company in late 2014.
Wylie said Bannon would fly to London about once a month for company meetings, and during that time he came to understand Bannon's ideology.
"He really liked the idea of using a military-style approach to changing people's perceptions," Wylie said.

You mean like the Pro-Left MSM propaganda engines supported by all the SJW Progressive-Left special interest groups have been doing for years? Most especially evident the last 16 months?

I'm shocked! (Not). :coffeepap:

Oh stop...this Ya but horse dung gets old after awhile. Equivalencies that are generally false equivalencies just get old after awhile.

I will describe for you a basic difference as opposed to a false equivalency.

There is a town in Kentucky that has its own Flint Michigan going. There is no water that isn't basically raw sewage. People are praying for rain so they can have something decent to drink as bad as rain water is as drinking water. Those people are trump's people. They voted for him. They thought he would help them. Beyond the fact that they are Americans, they are not my people. But I have no less sympathy for them than I do for the people of Flint or the people of Puerto Rico and if we had a dem administration that was not doing everything it could to rectify that mess in Kentucky, I would be incensed. Yet, Donald could give a rats behind what happens to them. He does not care one iota about them trying to scratch and claw every day just for water. That is the difference between this low life donald that never saw a straight road that he would try to bend and decent people.

This is no longer a government. This is donald wakes up in the morning rolls some bones and decides how he might spend the day. Today its a few tariffs. Tomorrow its trying to stuff a guy into the VA that will have no earthly idea what he doing there. So you go ahead and salute that nonsense all you want.

So trump followers can grin and shuffle and make believe they have the world by the short hairs all they want. God help you if you need the donald tomorrow. The best you will get out of him is a paper towel toss.

And off on a rhetorical tangent not even remotely germane to the topic you go. Yay you. Somebody give this guy a star.

No. It’s not liberal MSM fake news that the ACA brought the number of uninsured in this country down to the lowest level in its history- below 10% for the first time. But it is true that despite that, Breitbart and Cambridge Analytica got Americans to vote for someone who promised to repeal it anyway, playing on their dark latent racism to think that only colored people it hard times and need health insurance help from the government.

So which side helped them, and which side played on their worst fears, ignorance, and latent bigotries and prejudices to exploit and hurt them?

I went out today marching in support of Bannon...out wait, I fib Steve who?:lamo

Too late now buddy. They have already put the saddle on you and riding you like some poor beast of burden.
