I see Sam Harris stepped into the Bell Curve debate and Sullivan wrote an article on it. Good stuff.

Personally, I see IQ tests as simply being a measure of assimilation into the dominant culture. Hence. White males will always do the best in our IQ tests, while those same pudgy pale ****ers will bomb a prison IQ test, for example. But, that's just my opinion.

I guess, from what I can tell, this is Sully's primary motive for writing this article, and, thus, catching a lot of heat for it.

And, here's why it fits in as a general political discussion.

In some ways, this is just a replay of the broader liberal-conservative argument. Leftists tend to believe that all inequality is created; liberals tend to believe we can constantly improve the world in every generation, forever perfecting our societies. Rightists believe that human nature is utterly unchanging; conservatives tend to see the world as less plastic than liberals, and attempts to remake it wholesale dangerous and often counterproductive. I think of myself as moderately conservative.

I see myself as a centrist because my views on this subject split the middle between the two extreme positions mentioned above.
