David Hogg Says No to Clear Backpacks and Complains About School Security [W:171]

Re: David Hogg Says No to Clear Backpacks and Complains About School Security

There needs to be a step two (or one B?) - jail with LWOP those that failed to do so but stated otherwise.
Yeah, these little ****s that think it's funny to bring a gun to a school, or make violent threats against one (or any place for that matter) need to have a good five to ten in an adult jail.

I don't care how "sorry" they are, how much pleading and crying they give before the judge, or how much their parents beg. We have to protect the other innocent young people from them. So let them go to jail for a few years and be with other scumbags, and when they get out at twenty two years old, and their friends have been having a good time at college, they can explain how cool the experience of wearing chains and orange for five years was to their buddies.

I am fine with that too. I was addressing those like Scot Peterson who pocketed over $500K in SRO salary and decided to retire on active duty when a school shooter actually shows up.

He doesn't need a salary, he needs to be pushed off a cliff.

Sidenote: Don't you find it odd that Peterson was the only Broward County officer that the media publicly named? Threre were 3 other duputies that hid outside during the shooting, yet the media had no interest in outing them.

Re: David Hogg Says No to Clear Backpacks and Complains About School Security

The problem with this post, including its title, is that I read the linked article quite carefully, and although David Hogg (who has been mercilessly slandered by alt-right media and the NRA) did say that all the new security measures made the school feel like a prison, he never said anything at all about the clear-backpack situation.

His primary remarks were about the lack of media coverage of the school's black students, not allowing them to have a voice. He also said that since blacks make up 25%, he was disappointed the media didn't represent that, which is why the original Newsweek article was titled "PARKLAND STUDENT DAVID HOGG SAYS BLACK CLASSMATES WEREN’T GIVEN A VOICE BY MEDIA" and not the misrepresentation that this thread title deliberately implied.

The OP was pretty clear that the backpack remarks came from twitter and that the article was about his black classmates not not getting a voice in the media.

Re: David Hogg Says No to Clear Backpacks and Complains About School Security

So if you support any restriction of rights.....any at all....you can never support gun control? Is that your position?

Clear backpacks don't restrict anyone's rights. Schools have very broad powers in security matters.

That is almost a good point yet reports have said that they were following instructions (orders from ???) relayed by the dispatcher to establish a perimeter and to stay (500 feet?) back from the building under attack. The media is somewhat limited in these (police response) cases in that they must depend on being briefed by the police department involved. The media seems none too concerned with why the Las Vegas mass shooter was not challenged far sooner either.

Re: David Hogg Says No to Clear Backpacks and Complains About School Security

Back in the early 90's my HS had the clear or mesh backpack rule. Nothing New kid.

He wants to take rights away from others but not give an inch when he is inconvenienced.

That is why I don't pay attention to his noise

Yep my oldest kid's grade school back in the 90s had the same thing, as did the high school my wife taught at at the time.

Re: David Hogg Says No to Clear Backpacks and Complains About School Security

You sure are scared of a grass roots organizer. I can smell your fear.

I suggest removing your nose from Hillary's bum or wherever it is currently nestled.

i didn't say he said it in the article. I gave a direct link to a direct quote of Hogg, posted by Axios (the folks interviewing him) on twitter, where he spoke about the clear back packs. Try to read more carefully, and for comprehension. i very clearly provided the article to show the statement about feeling like a prison just as I very clearly provided the twitter link to show the statement about clear backpacks.

Reading comprehension should be your friend, buddy, so spare me your falsehoods trying to claim i misrepresented things when you can't even accurately read the information you were given.

Perhaps in schools for children with behavioral problems.

However, when kids go on rampages, they just show up, gun in hand. So it wouldn't do anything to combat that scenario.

The parkland dude came in with his gun inside of a backpack/duffel in order to hide it. So.....

Re: David Hogg Says No to Clear Backpacks and Complains About School Security

Trumptards are trying so hard to discredit him. Why is this a problem at all??? He can't have an opinion? He was being mocked earlier for cursing. OMG!!! You guys need to turn your outrage meters 180 degrees, because you are NOT scaring these kids away.

Sorry, hun, I did not vote for the idiot known as Trump. Interesting, though, the manufactured terms you spewed here to try to discredit me.

Re: David Hogg Says No to Clear Backpacks and Complains About School Security

The young fella, one the "leaders" of the...Parkland activists (until his 15 minutes are up) has some new beefs.

Number one at Parkland they have instituted a new policy where all students must use clear backpacks...if they don't have one, one will be provided for free. The school has very recently had an episode of say knives being brought to school. Students also have to wear ID badges.

Hogg says clear backpacks goes too far, yo. That it embarrasses students. And that it's totally unnecessary...uh, ok.

https://twitter.com/axios/status/977166034376458240/photo/1

So he unrealistically wants all sorts of gun control on a national scale and accuses people who don't support it as being murderers...but backpack stuff is too far for him.

He also complained that his school feels like a prison.
Parkland Student David Hogg Says Black Classmates Weren?t Given a Voice by Media

Tomorrow the Democrats will have their big party rallies, and the media will be in awe. But much like the Million Mom March, it will be nice when these folks fade back away. Though I'm sure for folks like Hogg, he'll be able to wrangle something out of it for himself and his future...the whole exercise feels like self-promotion to me anyways.

Yes, we should turn to 15 year olds to solve all of the worlds problems. I wonder what he thinks of the Iran Deal? Or Mideast peace? Perhaps we should make him ambassador to NK so he can solve that problem for us.

I worry about the mental stability of that kid. He should not be allowed near firearms due to his general hostility to those who don't agree with him, including his technology challenge parents. The little prick is probably the high schools biggest bully against kids who "don't conform". He's AntiFa with an dirty mouth. He's the perfect AstroTurf for democrats. They can trot him out, wind him up and everyone else is a bully for disagreeing with him.

The facts are the FBI and Sheriff's departments failed. No more than failed, they allowed the deaths to continue by apparently waiting for the perp to run out of ammunition or run out of victims.

There is a reason we don't let children be exploited by adults, especially teachers. The are trained at an early age that the teacher is right, honest, and righteous, and their authority over them is given by the state. And they determine their grades which is an implied threat.

Re: David Hogg Says No to Clear Backpacks and Complains About School Security

Of course when old Wayne LaPierre speaks you are all ears

David Hogg is actually Wayne LaPierre in a HS student costume?!?!

Re: David Hogg Says No to Clear Backpacks and Complains About School Security

My point is crystal clear

Yes, your point is crystal clear, it's just not the one you think it is.

When you make stupid threads Trump supporters like. Birds of a feather...

Amazing. Lol

I am not responsible for who agrees with me. Nice try to backpedal from your claim though.

And here's the thing - I was a never trumper therefore by your logic, if Trump Supporter people agreeing with me on some subject makes me a Trump supporter, then your common ground with me by association makes YOU a Trump supporter. DERP.

Here's how things work in the real world. Unlike you, apparently, I form my own opinions and positions on myriads of things. I have never met a single person who holds every opinion I do on every topic. Nor do I care who agrees or disagrees with me. If you are so mindlessly and binarily partisan that you feel that because I disagree with you on this topic and express opinions you don't like, that it makes me a Trump supporter by some twist of absurd logic, we'll then I suggest you invest in a shrink.

Now, you are welcome to address the actual thread without falsely giving someone a position they do not hold, else you are certainly welcome to GTHO.
