Chris Cillizza deserves recognition for these. () are my opinions/comments.

1. "We're negotiating very long, very hard, but very quickly." (Best Deal-maker ever! He doesn't like his own deals)

3. "For the last eight years, deep defense cuts have undermined our national security, hallowed our -- and they just -- if you look at what's taken out, they've hallowed our readiness as a military unit." (hollowed?)

4. "As crazy as it's been, as difficult as it's been, as much opposition to the military as we've had from the Democrats -- and it has been tremendous." (Democrats are bad)

6. "There are a lot of things that we shouldn't have had in this bill, but we were, in a sense, forced -- if we want to build our military -- we were forced to have." (Drain the swamp?)

8. "It became so big because we need to take care of our military, and because the Democrats, who don't believe in that, added things that they wanted in order to get their votes." (Republicans are cool, guys!)

11. "I'm calling on Congress to give me a line-item veto for all government spending bills." (Highly illegal and unconstitutional.)

12. "We have to get a lot of great legislation approved. And without the filibuster rule, it will happen just like magic." (Trump was joking when he said he wanted to be President for Life, right?)

13. "But national defense is a very important two words." (so is Stormy Daniels)

14. "You have to be able to see through the other side in order to see what's coming." (See through wall)

15. "All records for defense." ("All your base are belong to us!)

18. "The tanker aircraft is very important based on everything." (Science!)

21. "So when you look at all of these pages, a lot of that is devoted -- a lot -- to the military." (Military spending is good)

22. "While we can be disappointed in some ways, we have to also know that there are a lot of strings pulling everybody in different directions." (No Puppet)

24. "We looked at it to veto. I looked very seriously at the veto. I was thinking about doing the veto." (Fail)

600 BILLION a year wasn't enough for a strong military?

Line-item veto? He's almost certainly completely unaware of the SCOTUS ruling on that count...

Get rid of the filibuster rule? The one both sides have loved when it suits them?

He does not belong anywhere near that office. I have no doubt that if (one prays) he finally goes down, his supporters will lie well it was all liberals fault anyway, I never liked him. More and more of his early defenders do it on DP.

The real question is whether Americans are capable of learning. I increasingly doubt it. They put the biggest liar, the biggest scumbag, the biggest (bad thing) in office as far as I can remember. Every little piece of evidence that he is bad is called "fake news" from "leftists". I don't see any reason to think that if Trump rightfully goes down in flames, anything will change.

That's even more true if the Dems can't figure out where their asses are located. Look what happened after Carter. Look what happened after Obama.

We are still in "after Obama" mode!

The Op's observations were from one 5-10 minute speech! Who writes this crap/ Or was he off script?

There comes a point when this isn't just anti-trump cherry-picking anymore.

I'm puzzled by how he knows the phrase "line-item veto" but doesn't know the important thing about it.

I think Trump is so full of himself that he just wings it.
We saw it in the debates and we continue to see/hear it now.
It's fascinating to see someone with such a huge ego babbling himself into such a buffoon.
