It would appear that with the exodus of John Dowd, Trump is now running his own legal defense group. As anyone with any legal background knows, the lawyer (or in this case a self professed Super Genius "wannabe" lawyer ) that defends himself has a fool for a client. Not a far reach since Trump has been a fool for most of his adult life.

That said, anyone that has ever worked in DC knows that you can't walk down the street without bumping into either a lawyer or a lobbyist. The fact that several "high profile" DC lawyers have now turned down offers to join the POTUS defense team speaks volumes.........:)

Trump is saying privately he can do whatever he wants. The fact that he apparently spent more time worrying about Bolton's mustache instead of his views on WWIII and WWIV, is not good.
