McCain rips Trump's congratulatory call to Putin as an insult to Russian people

Yet just about all of the Veterans and Sons of the American Legion where I live continue to give another mulligan
to this sick CinC in regards to calling Sen. McCain a 'loser' because he was captured and tortured.

They continue to give 'my Vietnam was not getting STDs' a pass.
And continue to act like this CinC gives a **** about Veteran's affairs and our Military Personnel.

trumpcon Veterans continue to ignore the American Legion's strong call for THC products for PTSD Verterans.
Veterans would have roundly and correctly trashed President Obama for having a parade for one on Veteran's Day.

At this point, as the Historian of our Sons of the AL, I still must walk softly and carry a big stick.
I owe it to my brothers and sisters not to abandon them at this conflicted time for them ...

Britain is our closest ally. They're outraged by the Russia nerve agent attack in their country. But Trump congratulates Putin and never says a thing about the attack. He's given materials that say "DO NOT CONGRATULATE PUTIN" but he does so anyway.

God love the old man, and I wish him and his family all the best. Too bad we didn't hear him that outraged when Obama crawled up some dictators asses.

I read different comments about McCain around the elections in 2008. Now all the sudden the old man is everyone's favorite man. Not because he changed, but just because he is having a mouth about Trump.
Whatever. I thought trying diplomacy, even with the likes of Putin and rocket man and whatever dictator out there is preferable to acts of aggression. May be I'm wrong.

So when Trump was criticizing Obama all those years, he was doing it because he was angry that Obama won the Presidency in 2008 and Trump failed to win in 2000. Good to know that Trump's words shouldn't be taken seriously, because he was scorned in 2000 and he's sour.

I guess it also explains why he criticized George W. Bush. Bush won in 2000 and Trump didn't.

Tres. Seriously, I don't get this inability of the forum posters to think beyond the literal lately. You got me, it has nothing to do with 2008, I just said it for fun. There isn't ANY WAY one could infer I found his comment to be of poor consideration, showing a lack of judgement, one that goes back to 2008... Nah, that's madness.

Did you vote for Obama in 2008? I didn't. I voted for McCain, and didn't regret it. That's why I don't do an about face now. He was a good man and a war hero and I wouldn't all of a sudden start insulting him or bringing up his loss from 10 years ago when I supported him at that time.

McCain didn't run against Trump in 2008. So his words in 2018 about Trump's behavior have nothing to do with his loss to Obama in 2008.

Not really. He was the Republican Presidential candidate in the year where the economy melted down, and with a Republican President sitting in the Oval Office at that time. It was terribly unfortunate timing for Senator McCain's bid, and it was unfortunate that people capitalized on his appearance when contrasted to a very much younger, very much un-hobbled by war wounds Barack Obama.

I did vote McCain, but not because I had any love or like of the man. I felt he was a piss poor choice but I knew Obama was a disaster in the making, and he was. McCain has always been about McCain, he's not a good conservative.
