Well, it's nice to see someone from the Democrat side finally acknowledge, publicly, that one of the purposes of the 2A is to allow the people to protect themselves from a tyrannical government.

Now, admittedly I've only seen this on FOX, the NY Post and Rollcall. As we all know those are all fake news organizations and there is a possibility that this engagement was entirely made up out of whole cloth but I'm putting it out there anyway because, reportedly, the original source was Facebook and we can all trust that.

I admit to a certain amount of amusement when it is the Democrat who is accused of inferring something he almost certainly didn't mean or wasn't even thinking when he said it. Of course he wasn't suggesting that an armed citizenry storm the White House and take out President Trump. And yes, it is refreshing to see a Democrat be a strong advocate for the 2A.

But how many times has a conservative, most especially President Trump, been accused of inciting violence, racism, sexism, homophobia, Islamophobia, attacking something or somebody etc. etc. etc. when he said or tweeted something in an entirely different context? Maybe if that kind of thing happened to more Democrats, it would stop becoming fake news.
