Why conservatives are more susceptible to believing in lies.

Many conservatives have a loose relationship with facts. The right-wing denial of what most people think of as accepted reality starts with political issues: As recently as 2016, 45 percent of Republicans still believed that the Affordable Care Act included “death panels” (it doesn’t). A 2015 poll found that 54 percent of GOP primary voters believed then-President Obama to be a Muslim (…he isn’t).

Then there are the false beliefs about generally accepted science. Only 25 percent of self-proclaimed Trump voters agree that climate change is caused by human activities. Only 43 percent of Republicans overall believe that humans have evolved over time.

Did you believe "if you like your plan, you can keep your plan"?

The Affordable Care Act did have death panels.

Conservatism is a fearful position that is averse to change. It attracts people who have paranoid fears about government and change. They generally hate social change.

Again, I listen to conservative radio to make sure I'm not in an echo chamber.

Maybe I shouldn't say "conservatives." There are decent rational conservatives. But conservative radio is a total mess of nutbags.

Here's the problem with Liberals and Liberalism. They advocate rapid change just for change sake. They believe if it ain't broke fix it and when it becomes FUBAR, throw more money at it.

The structure of our government gives the exclusive power to create legislation to Congress. Congress cannot simply reject IPAB’s proposals as claimed by the left. To repeal the law, it would take a simple majority in the House, and a three fifths majority in the Senate, and the signature of the President—much more onerous than the process for creating legislation. IPAB is a legislative organization with superior powers over Congress regarding healthcare legislation.

When the unelected 15 member board of IPAB submits a proposal, it becomes law unless Congress can submit equal legislation regarding spending cuts. And if Congress does not attempt to repeal a proposal within the window of time for appeal, then the law prohibits Congress from altering the law created by an unelected board.

By preventing any future Congress from altering a law is unconstitutional and a violation of our representative form of government. The law also does not allow judicial review of the proposals if they become law, which is the reason the Supreme Court ruled against the EPA in Sackett vs. EPA.

How the death panels work:

The IPAB is mandated to keep Medicare per capita spending at the rate of inflation, which is 1%, with proposals that automatically become legislation. The technicality is that IPAB cannot take direct action to alter Medicare recipient’s benefits, but can take action against the industry that services Medicare beneficiaries. Historically when Medicare and Medicaid provider reimbursements are cut, access to care diminishes, the care and medical procedures provided are curtailed, but when the cuts are going to be as drastic as the IPAB will be forced to implement curtailing the care of the oldest and health challenged of the population, then the result will be deaths and diminishing quality of life. IPAB has the authority to tax, spend, and control federal and state grants, powers that the Constitution limits solely to Congress. And the law grants the Secretary of Health and Human Services all these powers if no IPAB board is appointed.

How drastic will the IPAB cuts be? Here is the math:

Considering IPAB is mandated to keep Medicare costs in check with the rate of inflation, and the current rate of inflation is 1%, and with no new beneficiaries added to Medicare, then it will still be drastic but plausible. But being constrained to a 1% growth per year in Medicare per capita costs, the current 52 million Medicare beneficiaries will swell to 73 million beneficiaries by 2025, or 11,000 per day, as the baby boomers hit Medicare age, and the number of workers per beneficiary dropping from the current 3.4 to 2.3 by 2025, the IPAB is a death panel. But IPAB is only a death panel in the academic sense as they are following mandates created exclusively by the Democrats.

Read the laws:

You appear confused and misinformed - I offer a previous quote to help clear up your delusional view.

Peace to you and yours!

To help those of you confused over differences between Liberals and Conservatives, I have provided a brief description of both.

Liberals:
-tip generously, wait longer between haircuts and lawn cuts, take life in stride, help strangers, put others ahead of themselves, spew love and peace, smile a lot, have an optimistic and inclusive attitude, make hard work look easy, and focus on the common welfare for the benefit of the most people.

Conservatives, on the other hand:
- have a stingy and judgmental nature, insist on conformity, focus on criticizing other people's values instead of their own, show strangers disdain, glorify themselves, spew hate and discord, frown a lot, have a pessimistic and exclusionary attitude, a sense of entitlement and couldn't give a rat's ass about the common welfare.

No, that's where you are dead wrong. Liberals are completely intolerant of everyone who DARES to disagree with them, will resort to violence if it accomplishes their utopian goals. and are basically totalitarian in nature. Conservatives, OTOH want to preserve time honored principles of freedom and INDIVIDUAL Liberty, family, and community without big brother government getting in the way,

Yawn. All your dribbling... and you remain clueless on how to score.

Your World of Filter Bubbles plays right into relying on Alternative Facts. Putting a sign around a cow's neck that says HORSE doesn't turn the cow into a HORSE.

Liberalism is dangerous because it is the little sister to Communism, a bigger threat. You see, Liberalism and the US Constitution are incompatible. But being a Bolshevik, you probably don't care about the proper framework of our Constitutional Republic.

Ok, this is just my personal opinion, but here goes.

1. They believe lies because they are often religious which is rooted in nothing but lies.

2. They believe lies because truth is complex and nuanced. Cons do not do nuance.

3. They believe lies because their worldview is constructed by endless lies: guns save lives, economics trickle down from rich to poor, everyone has equal opportunity, Black people are not marginalized, whites have no inherent privilege, males are oppressed....

 that should cover it.

ROTFLOL...

That’s why Leftists around the world pine for ever lower voting ages.

It’s why the old saying is... if you’re young and not Liberal, you’ve got no heart, and if you’re old and Liberal, you’ve got no brain.

I was a Leftist in my youth... but over time, as I learned the lies, deceits, failures and misery caused by the Left... I abandoned the morally and intellectually depraved ideology.

Leftist claptrap appeals to emotion, not clear thinking, nor the lessons of history... hence the desire of Leftists to lower voting ages and turn out the youth vote.

And the illegal and the destitute.
