over foreign made merchandise in the Trump store, some of which doesn't list country of origin:

“This could be very expensive,” Kimmel said. “Not to mention embarrassing. Are they even capable of shame? I mean Trump’s whole platform is about American companies, his company isn’t even supporting America!”
And Kimmel has a way to fix it.
“I’ll just file an official complaint and let them sort it out,” he said to cheers.

Kimmel is making America great again.

It is really silly to preach "Buy American / Hire American" and not do it yourself. Makes you look like a Huge hypocrite.

I remember him when he first started as a radio personality in LA many years ago (he was doing a zany sports guy on KROQ's morning show). He was pretty funny then though I dont watch much late night talk shows anymore so I dont know if he's still got it.

Kimmel is a prick. And not funny to boot.

Oh, he can indeed be a prick...but he is funny...

...and he's often very right, especially when pointing out the utter hypocrisy of the Right. What he did here was a great example - Trump campaigned SO hard about "making American great again", about "bringing back jobs from overseas"...and yet his store doesn't seem to sell anything made in America. But that's no big surprise - this past November he hired 70 foreign workers for Mar-a-Lago. Here's what the local newspaper had to say about that:

"We currently have 5,136 qualified candidates in Palm Beach County for various hospitality positions listed in the Employ Florida state jobs database," CareerSource spokesman Tom Veenstra told the Palm Beach Post.

But y'all are a-okay with hypocrisy, I guess, which is why right-wing evangelicals are SO okay with Trump's extramarital dalliances and public rudeness and daily lies.

Nope, Kimmel is hoping for a Trump gotcha moment while he persoanlly buys foreign made stuff from Trump stores.

Most of the merchandise Kimmel purchased was made abroad, and two items didn’t list a country of origin at all. Kimmel said such an omission could lead to potential fines of up to $500,000 if it turns out these products were made overseas.

I know! Imagine the gall of the guy, calling out the Trumplings on not obeying the laws about identifying countries of origin. Those kinds of laws are for the ordinary people, not people named Trump.

From what I gathered, the issue is if items made in foreign countries aren't identified as such. That's where the fine would kick in. If I read it right.

A company that we did some packaging for, had a shipment of product rejected at the boarder because it did not have a "Product of Canada" printed on the boxes. (that companies fault not mine. They had to get us to put a printed label on each box for the product that was being shipped to the US. I believe only non pre-processed foods (like cuts of beef) can get away with not having country of origin labels on it. Even apples at the store will have a price list indicating where they are from

Yep, but how is Kimmel buying known (or expected) to be foreign made stuff from Trump's store going to MAGA? I could see buying only the suspected foreign made stuff as part of his "sting operation" but why buy foreign made stuff properly labeled as such?

You could be right about the gotcha component of Kimmel's purchases. It could also be called "keeping him honest". No, scratch that. Trump's not honest so he can't be kept that way. I don't have a problem with demanding that he follow the law.

Clearly, he did it to make a point.

I dunno. Maybe he'll make a stand-up routine out of it, with close-ups of the labels. I won't see it, anyway.
The whole thing makes me giggle, though. Can't take the heat, stay out of the fishbowl. Or something.

Yup and it's fine Trump masturbates to Fox News every morning and hires TV personalities that he agrees with.

Clearly, he did it to make a point.

The point being that Trump's store, like countless other stores, sells foreign made products? Imports, and the selling of them, was done under many previous administrations and will likely continue. The idea that Trump opposes buying or selling imports, rather than having a large trade deficit, is appealing only to Trump bashers, like Kimmel. BTW, Kimmel drives a BMW.

While Kimmel is busy bashing Trump for selling imports I doubt that he will mention that he drives a BMW.

Jimmy Kimmey is the typical Hollywood dip****. I wonder if he thinks he is any different than trump? Lol.

He and everyone else knows he's different than Trump. Kimmel isn't the President of the United States of America. Kimmel isn't in charge of enforcing laws and setting policy in the country. Kimmel isn't in the Oval Office after promising to make America great again by taking actions to bring back manufacturing to the United States. Kimmel isn't setting policies on tariff imports. Kimmel isn't be tasked to practice what he preaches.

Kind of surprising that you didn't know any of this.
