As long as Putin praises Trump, Trump will keep going easy on Putin. Trump has called critics of his coziness with Trump “jealous.” It seems to me Trump has stepped through the trap door, that Putin custom-made just for him, long ago.

Wait a minute. Do public schools in the US teach creationism?

I don’t see any facts to support your claim that “the left fell through a trap door” in the article from your link. The election intervention was an example of Russians using certain means to accomplish an end, to undermine democracy. I’m sure the vast majority of those who believe there was a Trump campaign/Russian collusion also believe the intervention was to undermine democracy. I don’t know what your pointing out that the goal of undermining democracy by the Russians proves that the belief in collusion was a “trap door” for the left. If anybody fell through a “trap door”, it was Trump Jr. et al who met with the Russians in Trump Tower. They took the bait.

The Russians wanted to undermine our democracy and the left are rabidly claiming Russian collusion and that we have an illegitimate president - exactly what Russia wanted to accomplish - making Americans doubt our democratic process. The left fell for it hook, line, and sinker - falling right into Russia's hands and what Putin wanted.

Nice strawman. Very few people believe that Russia changed the election.

    Most liberals believe:

    1. Trump has Russian financial ties that may include money laundering.
    2. Trump campaign members conspired with Russians in releasing the hacked emails to Wikileaks.

You can't deny that there is plenty of evidence to suggest both.

Supporting #1: Trump proposed building a tower in Moscow and sought to fund from a Russian state bank.
Supporting #2: Roger Stone's connection with Guccifer 2.0. and a secret meeting with Russians about dirt on Hillary. George Papadopoulos bragging about that the Russians had thousands of Hillary's emails.

If you're a rational person you would concede that #1 and #2 warrant a thorough investigation. All I and many liberals want is that these matters be thoroughly investigated. It seems that Republicans don't want to know and are just obstructing justice.

It is quite logical to question the legitimacy of an election where another country has been proven to have intervened in favor of one particular candidate. In fact, it would be illogical to not question such. If anything, the US failed in keeping the democratic process secure from foreign intervention and the public should rightly express their disapproval. Do you really think people should not have spoken their opinions in this matter, and not have exercised their right of free speech? It is the very nature of our democracy that we do what you complain against. It is more a trap door that right-leaning voters say there was no Russian interference in the 2016 election, even though all our intelligence agencies say so, which lends support to Putin’s position in this matter.

Obama utterly failed to do anything about Russian meddling at the time it was going on.
