Oprah recieves a sign fron "god"

I think mocking is fine, depends on presentation. Don't really care what is mocked, do a good job and I'll have a chuckle.

Do you also have this confusion with white and black people? If so, then perhaps you don't understand the difference between the majority and minority, and how that plays into what's inappropriate.

Men and women, same issue? Again, majority and minority.

None of which changes the reality of my post.

And watch as asshole liberals who swore celeb candidates are the bane of politics magically rally behind her.

Are there any liberals doing that in particular, or is it aimed at every single so-called liberal in the thread?

I think it is in poor taste, but so is about 75% of tv these days. I never watch Colbert anyway, not my sort of thing.

Pity so many don't seem to "get" it these days, when a Christian says they need to pray about something or seek God's will before making a major decision... but a lot of that is the media doing their thing, and media people are not very representative of the general population.

God answers prayer. I'm not talking about hearing voices or having visions. Those who understand don't need it explained; those who don't wouldn't listen anyway.

Not to a Christian. He should try that with the prophet of Allah. See how there sense of humor is.

Being a follower of a humble carpenter from 2,000 years ago my take is Colbert couldn't come near the damage that has been done by the church.

Seriously, Catholicism is a rip off of pagan rituals, and almost all modern churches follow some form of that model. The only problem is it has NOTHING to do with God and everything to do with controlling the populace after Rome fell.

I find this very humorous as it is a parody of every rip off televangelist who's ever picked a pocket, and a much needed kick in the side of every priest whose fondled little boys and gotten away with it. Today's church deserves to be made fun of and worse.

The next time you meet a pastor or priest ask them what was the most likely month in which Jesus was born. I'll give you a hint, it has nothing to do with a winter pagan festival on the longest day of the year, the third week of December.

He was not mocking a church.

It seems to be faishionable to mock Christians, not content to stop there, Colbert now mocks GOD himself. Good thing he did not mock Allah or he might lose his head. A new disgusting low even for the degenerate Hollywood.

No, it's not 'fashionable', but it's entirely reasonable to mock the absurd levels of hypocrisy exhibited by American Christians in the political theater.

That, and an omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent being wouldn't give a flying **** about being mocked.

And conservatives wonder why they're laughed at for having no sense of humor.

Are you often triggered by the opinions of others?

Oprah Gets Her Sign from "God" to Run for President - EBONY

There has been immense public support for Oprah Winfrey to run for president in the upcoming 2020 election. However, the media magnate says she would only be up for the possibility if she receives a divine “sign.”
Her message from “God” finally came during a visit to The Late Show. During the segment, Stephen Colbert mentioned that the divine being visits the show often as an animated depiction of “God” appeared excited to be in the presence of Winfrey.

“It’s God, everybody! Give it up for the Lord,” Colbert said.
“I’m a huge fan,” the figure told Oprah. “That’s great to hear. I’m a big fan of yours, too, God. I really am,” she humorously played along.
“I hear thou seekest a sign? Well, is this clear enough?” The animated figure held up a sign that read “RUN!” “God” also help up campaign merchandise for Oprah 2020. Winfrey then explained why she has not committed to running for the most important job in America.

It was a comedy bit. Apparently you lack a sense of humor. Its a good thing we have that beacon of morality, 5 deferment cadet bone spurs, as president.

Dont care about your butthurt.

What does this personal jab have to do with my mockery of the notion that Oprah was told to run by God, based on a comedy show? What does that have to do with my comments that if Oprah actually claimed - not in comedy - that God told her to run, that Oprah would be just as insane as others?

What have I said in this thread that is so objectionable on the substantive points I made?

One would hope that they had more class than to run a public guilt campaign on her, trying to guilt her into doing what they want.

Because it is as the end of the day all about what they want.

They are even willing to spoil the art.

SAD

Bob... :) My man. It's ok. I forget what movie said it, but they said it best (might have been the movie Dogma)... If you ever doubt that God has a sense of humor, just reflect on the faces we make when we cum. It's ok to have a chuckle. This will neither make nor break anyone's faith. And as for Muslim equivalency, lots on the left had "Je Suis Charlie" on their FB pages too.

Proverbs 15:15 For the despondent, every day brings trouble; for the happy heart, life is a continual feast.

Ask Texans how "draw the prophet day went" Hint, muslims shot the place up. Jeff Dunham does not make images of Muhammed.

Did Oprah make images of GAWD??? You said mocking Islam... try and mean what you mean the first time... ;)

Now I recall the ignorant event ignorant Texans held... the place wasn't shot up- you might be confusing that event with the equally 'Texan' event at Twin Peak- the big motorcycle gang shoot-out, now THAT was more along the lines of shooting up the place...

Now you seem to ignore asking about Mr. Disney... was he one of the 'men of GAWD' known to molest children? What proof do you have to attack Walt Disney??? :peace

My sense of humor does not include mocking GOD for some cheap canned TV laughter. I find plenty of things humorous, like many reactions to my opinion of Colbert's "skit".
