Oh look! More douchebaggery from people associated with the troll in chief.

More than a dozen police wearing bulletproof vests entered the lobby of the Trump International Hotel in Panama on Monday morning and evicted the Trump Organization’s staff, a move that comes after weeks of simmering tensions over control of the property.

The Trump Organization manages the hotel in the 70-story tower overlooking the Punta Pacifica Peninsula and the new majority owner had gone to court in the U.S. and Panama to evict the company run by President Donald Trump’s sons. There were scuffles as police arrived to carry out the eviction, and Panamanian court officials were present.

niiiiiiiiiiiiice ................. ..........

How embarrassing for an employee. Instead of collecting their things the previous day and leaving without incident, they get raided like a stash house.

Probably not finished shredding documents and wiping hard drives

Militarized police! Abuse! Oh wait? You said it was trumps people? Never mind.

No but seriously. Why were they evicted and why were police involved? I get a loss of business to a majority owner, but kinda seems weird to me. I would assume there was some kind of legal battle? Was this a PR stunt?

I will guess and say that the new owner was being prevented from looking at the books

Looks more like a property squabble and PR stunt by the new guy. Doesn’t look like there was a good reason to do it. Granted this was in a foreign nation. It likely would never have happened here. Not like that. But then...our government is more...civilized? Organized? I think the second one fits better for a case like this:

Anyway. This stood out to me from the article:

Fintiklis gained access to the tower’s main office late Monday morning. The colorful property owner told reporters he would not be commenting about the morning’s actions at this point. He then played a song on the piano for the gathered onlookers with lyrics that, when translated, said, “Fascism will not prevail.”

Screams PR stunt.

PANAMA CITY — One of President Donald Trump’s family businesses is battling an effort to physically evict its team of executives from a luxury hotel in Panama where they manage operations, and police have been called to keep the peace, The Associated Press has learned. Witnesses told the AP they saw Trump’s executives carrying files to a room for shredding.

Normally shredding documents indicates something to hide.

Relations quickly soured amid abysmal hotel occupancy numbers and allegations by Ithaca and other hotel unit owners of financial mismanagement or misconduct. In October, Ithaca Capital led a push to terminate Trump Hotel’s management contract and seek compensatory damages. Trump’s company — which he still owns but does not directly control — refused to hand over control of the property, arguing that the vote to fire Trump Hotels was invalid.
