What happens when Democrats are asked why they put “Illegals before Americans”

That was for a beer. I expanded on that to comparing illegals and nonproductive citizens.

I understand that most these people come here for a better life, and I wish them well. We just cannot keep pretending this isn't a problem, and we have to mitigate illegal residency.

Talk to the people who employ them. They're what causes the problem. They're luring those people into your country. If you're serious about stopping illegal immigration, get to the bottom of the problem. Those people are coming because greedy bastard employers who want to make big bucks off cheap labour take jobs away from Americans and give them to people who have no legal right to be there. They, the employers, know exactly what they're doing.

Still no evidence, whatsoever, of 3-5,000,000 illegals having voted, I see.

Bummer.

The Democrats received 5 million more votes in in 2016 than they did in 1980
while the Republicans received the same amount no increase since 1980, I wonder
why. In bizarroville California where people with driver liscenses become voter
eligible could it be that of those 5 million more DEM votes over 1/3 may be from the
huge waves of illegals since 1980 who are sheltered in this odd sanctuary state.

You are predicting the future. That's called science fiction, not reality.

Science fiction is based on fantasy kind of like the right wings hopes. Reality is based on facts. Corporations are still moving to Mexico, corporations are closing doors, and laying off workers. Employment gains are not meeting predicted levels. Wages are not increasing save in the States that have mandated increases in the minimum wage. Cost of living is increasing. National debt is increasing. Trade deficit with China hits new highs. Housing costs are increasing. And the list goes on. Not science fiction as you would hope for, just reality.

The economy has improved under Trump. Look at GDP growth. Do I really have to post the numbers? GDP growth under Trump is better than under Obama.

It is far easier to grow an economy once it has an upwards slope than it is to reverse that slope during a deep recession. Trump deserves no credit whatsoever for the inanities he has said and attempted to do since his undemocratic victory over the majority of Americans. He could not tell you the difference between a Phillips curve and a curve ball, his first response would be "That pitch was first thrown by Phillips, he played for the Yankees."

Your post was opinions about the future. The future has no facts until after it happens.

Undemocratic victory? Your total post is biased partisan rabid nonsense.

Undemocratic victory? Your total post is biased partisan rabid nonsense.

It is most certainly not biased at all, in fact, it is truthful in every way possible. Let us dig a bit deeper into my claims:

1. Once a macro economy has turned downwards as quickly and precipitously as it did in 2008, turning it around was an extremely difficult task and challenged economic orthodoxy to its roots. Are you suggesting otherwise?

2. Once that economy turns back upwards and 7 years pass with continuous growth in employment, GDP, stability, stock prices, etc., the economy rolls forward like an ocean liner, stopping it or making it go faster is not that easy at all. Trump has done virtually nothing to dramatically change the trends except give himself a tax cut.

3. He was indeed elected undemocratically via the Electoral College which is a purposefully undemocratic method of electing the POTUS. Over three million more Americans voted for Hillary than for Trump. His victory spit in the face of any notion of us being a democracy.

4. There is virtually no way this ingrate could tell you what a Phillips Curve is without someone feeding him the answer. He can barely grasp the fundamentals of the constitution let alone macro 101.

Now it may be that number 4 is indeed a partisan whack at the dumbest President to ever hold office but so far, Trump has shown no facility at being even a competent expert in macro economics. His professors in college called him the stupidest student he ever had.

It is the California government who is not only letting it happen but doing their best to make it happen, like having sanctuary cities and passing laws for police departments not to cooperate with ICE, allowing this to happen. If California wants to stick it to the California one percent Republicans, then why don't they do it? Why do they do the exact opposite?

Republicans, i.e. Employers, have been employing illegals when the state had GOP leadership. They like cheap labor. The US has always liked cheap labor, legal or illegally here, dating back to slavery. That's it. Sanctuary cities is just one way of pointing out our ambivalence/hypocrisy about this. Democrats have benefited politically since Pete Wilson demagogue-ed the issue years ago. That's the politics and economics. When we are ready to see wages rise in certain industries, things may change. Don't hold your breath.

Ummmmmmmm. We've been using the electoral college to elect presidents democratically for over 200 years. If you can't even acknowledge that then none of the rest of the stuff you wrote can be considered either. Care to accept the fact that Trump was democratically elected so that we can debate your other points?

Ummmmmmmmm. California has been blue for a while and current Democrats in state government go out of their way to do anything they can to supply cheap illegal labor to the California one percenters. Why would they do that? California is supposed to be against the one percenters and income inequality and yet they go out of their way to throw gasoline on the fire.

Any AMERICAN unskilled laborer would be happy to pick California's fields. Notice the African-American unemployment rate, for example, went down when Trump's administration began to prosecute undocumenteds.

You should double check things before you make statements. Here's an article from Fortune Aug 2017.

Vegetable prices may be going up soon, as a shortage of migrant workers is resulting in lost crops in California.

Farmers say they’re having trouble hiring enough people to work during harvest season, causing some crops to rot before they can be picked. Already, the situation has triggered losses of more than $13 million in two California counties alone, according to NBC News.

The ongoing battle about U.S. immigration policies is blamed for the shortage. The vast majority of California’s farm workers are foreign born, with many coming from Mexico. However, the PEW Research Center reports more Mexicans are leaving the U.S. than coming here.

To make the jobs more attractive, farmers are offering salaries above minimum wage, along with paid time off and 401(k) plans, but even that’s not proving enough.

Immigration: California Crops Rot During Farmworker Shortage | Fortune

And another article on it from the LA times, talking about farmers increasing pay up to 16 bucks an hour, offering 401k, and still getting nobody willing.

Wages rise on California farms. Americans still don’t want the job - Los Angeles Times

It's almost as if, Americans don't want to do that type of work...

I agree. The employers need to be penalized so bad when caught, that it isn't worth chancing.

I wonder how many rich people hire illegal maids, gardeners, etc? They too need to be penalized harshly when caught.

The statistic I find amazing is that if California wasn't counted, Trump would have won by about 2 million votes from the other 49 states.

Clinton 8,753,798
Trump 4,483,810

So Clinton won the plurality one state California by 4,270,000 votes
While Trump won the plurality in the other 49 states by over 1,500,000 votes

California in the election of 1980 before the results of the Immigration
Act of 1965 began to be fruitfull for the Democrats

Republican votes 4,524,858
Democratic votes 3,083,661

The democrats received 5,700,000 more votes in 2016 than the received in 1980
The republicans received 40,000 less votes in 2016 than the received in 1980

California ain't what it used to be!
No longer the paradise over the mountains like it was in the 50's, 60's & 70's.

Something needs to be done about the idiots in California.

After a brief respite, I noticed how everyone is demanding facts for assertions. Isn't that special, er, refreshing? Should we start by demanding facts about Russian collusion of the 2016 with the Trump campaign? Maybe we should wait for all the research to come in before we poo poo theories like, for example, lower skilled labor will benefit from a Trump tariff?

Why else would the African-American who produced the video in the OP be so angry with dems for favoring undocumenteds to African-Americans? Betrayal.

Nothing wrong over here. Seems like the right wing wanting to be mono-cultural. No wonder, they won over the North Koreans.

It's not that they want a mono-culture. They just hate the authoritarianism of the left. The left is constantly trying to dictate to others.

I'm just going to reply to the thread title. Democrats should respond that illegal immigrants are human beings, and the majority of them are fleeing poverty or worse in order to have a shot at the American dream. The world has a long and horrible history of demonizing people as "others" because of irrational fears, and the Democratic party shouldn't put up with it. ICE is already doing the devil's work, but what they do isn't enough to satisfy the pathetic people that seek to play the victim and blame others for their own failures. Hatred is the worst quality of mankind, and the Democratic party should not indulge in it.

Are you saying it doesn't have anything to do with all the extra social benefits we tax payers have to dish out?

California grew in population by over 15 million people since 1980 and the most populated state over second rank Texas by 12 million people....What are you having a hard time understanding?

So Clinton won the plurality one state California by 4,270,000 votes
While Trump won the plurality in the other 49 states by over 1,500,000 votes
So what? Irrelevant, California is part the United States of America and their votes count. In the not so distant past Gore and Kerry only one Cali by 1 million votes in 2000 & 2004...Then in 2008 Cali started to get seriously lopsided in favor of the Democrats....And guess what event happened in 2008? The Great Recession.....You figure it out....
