Just because you tell someone that bullying will always be with us doesn’t mean that person didn’t know that before.

Everything you’ve said about what children should be taught is elementary and redundant, though I most certainly agree but for your insistence on framing that is and should be done as false dilemma. However, just to edify, it is not so much the physical aspect of martial arts to defend oneself against bullying, but the self-confidence gained in the discipline of martial arts. By far, most bullying is mental/emotional. Bullies look for those who appear weak is where the self-confidence comes in. And, using “emotional judo” will help deflect the language of bullying, which is abusive, without resorting to violence.
Except it's not elementary and redundant which is a large part of the problem.
I said the same about karate/martial arts, we agree there.

As far as bullies looking for weak targets, that's not always the case. Some just bully whoever is around, but I tend to agree, pending the initial response, most will return to weak targets.

After typing that previous response I also came to realize how difficult it is to try having a conversation about parenting and the complexities of bullying and the results of it via a chat room. I don't feel like doing any more paragraphs and paragraphs breaking down each aspect so, I'm done.

Bullying sucks, it results in bad stuff but can also result in good stuff pending levels of bullying and parents, raise your kids.

Having given very good and acceptable reasoning as to why, the above would have been quite sufficient for one to say they are “done.” and thus be the entire post. However, your post had more in it than to be from one who is honestly “done” by making statements that invite response, then rejects the notion of due reply.

So, those who want gun control, what is wrong with this? Why would Democrats try to stop this?

Do you think all you need to do is ban things and everything will be fine? Or do they just not want to fix the problem so they can keep running on it?

Although I'm willing to bet, the biggest piece of the pie of that 73% or murders is done in that or similar fashion.
If there were no guns, there would be no gun violence.

The reality however, beyond the fact that we have a Constitutional right to firearms, is that you cannot remove all the guns from America. Not anymore than you can remove all the booze or all the drugs.

And attempting to do so with those 2 created "more violent crime."

Attempting to do so would also leave all the guns in the hands of the criminals, putting the rest of us even more at risk.

So "banning guns" is not a worthwhile discussion...it's not possible.
