Kushner's clearance downgraded, but.................................

It looks as though Kushner's security clearance has been "downgraded" but his attorney says that it will not affect the "very important" work that he is doing for the country. Now, while that is certainly a glowing remark, it does spawn one very important question: If he can still do the work that he was doing, what did he need that level of security clearance for in the first place?
 
Lots of speculation that Trump will intervene and simply grant Kushner the necessary clearance as he is family.

Nepotism for the unqualified is part of the swamp and Trump is expanding it - not draining it as promised.

This borders on fake news. Kushner was one of dozens of White House aids who were downgraded through no fault of their own.

Speculation isn't fact. Trump has already said that he will let the process of security clearance play out according to the regular protocol, as the linked article in the OP states.

I speculate that you use the term "speculate" to lie and then attempt to expand on that lie.

It was the word LIE that I was referring to as that is what I was accused of.

If his clearance has been downgraded from Top Secret it means that in meetings, Oval Office discussions, etc. with senior officials, when Top Secret topics become a topic of discussion, Kushner will have to leave the room. This seems like the first step by bureaucrats to slide Kushner out the door. It will be interesting to see what Trump's reaction will be to this. Lots of Top Secret files are just to prevent embarrassment to officials that screw up. No security involved.
